I don't get how people have such good rod accuracy and jitter… I'm getting drained in BuildUHC Meetup because everyone is a Gold and I'm Emerald. Even Silver 3s can beat me in BuildUHC and I'm Silver 1, they just keep on getting the far hits and when I try to play defensive with the rod, half my rods don't land. People like to spam lava buckets for some reason and when I water, it never picks up, even when I clearly double-right-click to pick it up as soon as possible. I can't spam lava buckets because I can't flick and my average CPS is 6. I play on a laptop and it just doesn't work for me. How can I solve all of these issues? I'm finding PVP boring nowadays, just because I can't beat anyone. I don't play it 24/7, and never have. I treat it as something to kill time, but it doesn't seem to yield the old days of competitive PVP gameplay that I used to love. I don't have any friends that are active on Minecraft, because they're all still in secondary school and I'm in college. The only thing I'm good at is bowspamming, and people just play very defensive when I do that. I don't know if I'm just tired today, because I'm normally better than this- but how do I get better in the first place?

first step to getting better is quitting builduhc and moving to pot, because builduhc is an incredibly inconsistent ladder and a horrible representation of actual skill

1. Increase your CPS, it really does make a difference. I usually click 12-13 but my old mouse broke, and while I've been on this 10 year old tiny hollow plastic mouse clicking 4-5 CPS, I haven't been able to get decent hits on anyone.
2. Try seeing which FOV works for you, a lot of the top players have started lowering their FOV in Build to 70-80ish, you should try around that level.
3. Try playing more aggressively if playing defensively doesn't work out.

I play too aggressively, and it just ends up me getting killed because people gapple up while I'm trying to go for them. I commit too much and it ends up in my demise.

You're not supposed to play the same against every player. You're supposed to adjust to their playstyle or laggy/no kb.
