Everyone knows about Badlion Premium but not everyone knows about CheatBreaker. What is CheatBreaker?
CheatBreaker is a Client Side anticheat by MineHQ that has been in the works for almost a year now. MineHQ has kept a secret for a bit now and now there is some news.
Jhalt posted this on twitter: https://twitter.com/itsjhalt/status/844781544115879938 and Marcel posted this https://twitter.com/StimpyPvP/status/844947951118159872 This is the CheatBreaker logo.
CheatBreaker is a CLIENT SIDED ANTICHEAT which is a FORGE Mod. Meaning you can have whatever mods you want with your minecraft (As long as it isn't a client OFC.) If a server chooses so they can have it where there server is protected by cheatbreaker. Which means if a player were to use CheatBreaker and try to cheat there HWID UUID and IP would be banned. This is also FREE and anyone can download it. It is also 1.7. You don't have to use it but you have to use it for ranked so this means no cheaters on leaderboards.
Why this is actually competition.
1. Its been worked on for almost 2 years now. Prplz and high payed developers have been working on it. So this should be pretty good.
2. Its free. One of the main complaints about badlion premium is it not being free and having to pay to not fight cheaters.
3. You can use any mod you want as long as its nothing that will give you an unfair advantage.
4. Its 1.7. Another complain about badlion premium is it being 1.8. I personally played on the badlion client and it was fairly obvious what version I was using. All the top players don't regularly use 1.8 for PvP so this means that its 1.7 PvP. (What is used most by true pvpers) (Cringe)
5. You won't even notice you have a client side anticheat. When using it you won't notice you have a client side anticheat running. So that means nothing extra that you don't want (Something people complained about)
For all those people who say omg rat!!! wtf not downloading! Rat!!!!!!!!!!! It won't be. I don't think StimpyPvP would encourage people to use cheatbreaker if he isn't sure its safe and not a rat. Or Prplz.
I think CheatBreaker will succeed and I can see a lot of servers using it. I think its good badlion premium is getting some competition. Badlion hasn't had any in a while now.
Also if servers tend to use this this might save Minecraft from possibly dying.

It will not succeed.Unfortunately, since it only has it forge level APIs, the amount of access that it has to the actual game is very limited.
It probably will block most hacks at first but I still believe in BAC much more then cheat breaker.
There is no actual announcement that this will be public and a forge mod.
That was the old failed cheatbreaker

If badlion fails to recognize this as a threat for any longer and it turns out to be a good product, badlion premium is likely to drop EVEN IF premium is cleaner/better. Free vs. monthly fee will generally be a victory at the hands of the free product like CS:GO matchmaking being free yet there being cleaner services like FACEIT that offer potentially better anti-cheat, etc, at a fee. Most players will simply prefer to play for free. Even something as simple as server ranks show that most people are probably not going to pay more money for services after they've purchased the original game (refer to non-donors vs. donors on any network). So even if CheatBreaker isn't a better service, it's likely to succeed, especially if premium does because people will be looking for a similar alternative. Imagine if CheatBreaker turns out to be better, what that'll be like. Anyways, should CB actually be good, this is competition regardless of whether or not it's acknowledged. Could get forum banned for voicing this opinion. If you quote this and it's not later tonight or tomorrow, I don't check the badlion forums as often anymore to respond to any concerns. Any direct questions regarding my stance on this, you can reach me through the twitter in my badlion profile.Posted on 23 March 2017 - 11:14 PM

Badlion cannot recognize this as a threat because it hasn't even been announced yet. It's been teased yes, but no announcement has come.
How do you recognize something as a threat before it happens? If you're so smart then do it yourself.

"Badlion premium has already failed tbh" you're clan name sure fits you if you're going to go and make asinine statements like that.Posted on 24 March 2017 - 12:02 AM
In no way at all did bastion premium succeed. No one gives two shits about it anymore. No one is asking about it anymore. More people are saying "When is this shit getting done so you guys can work on something that's actually fun or another judgement day to clear all the cheaters"Posted on 24 March 2017 - 12:04 AM
If you show me how good Badlion premium is doing now. (Not when it first came out) a and it's doing well then I will admit I'm wrongPosted on 24 March 2017 - 12:05 AM

1. It's still in beta, to say something in a beta has failed is asinine and then to go and act like it's been fully released just furthers how idiotic the point you're trying to make is.
2. If it hasn't succeeded and people don't care about it then why do the update threads for it get 4k or higher views? Why does the LATEST update thread have the most views (4.8k) if no one cares about it anymore?
Posted on 24 March 2017 - 12:17 AM
If you didn't know already smelly Max's it where every thread he makes it gets a retarded amount of views an likes. And everything that's not uhc on Badlion fails. SG 2.0 CTF skywars twice LOL. CtW. Also no 1 cares about arena 1v1s on premium anymore and that was the main thing people liked. If you think it hasn't failed dk what to tell uLast edited on 24 March 2017 - 12:22 AM by Vaxd

BL SG has huge numbers and rivals Hypixel's SG numbers during NA and beats them during EU.
Our Hosted UHC numbers are still the highest.
We are the largest Arena server, no other server including hypixel comes close.
UHCM is the largest meetup sim
BL CTW is the largest CTW server currently and it's been out for under 3 days
CTF/SW/Rush were literally released for premium, they were never expected to succeed initially on open.
MiniUHC + UHC6 reworks are in the works
Season 15 is also being worked on
No one cares about premium because:
1. It's a very closed beta
2. They've tested it out, done their part, and now are waiting
3. You can't gain money on beta currently
4. Stats will be wiped
5. ESL/sponsors/business partners have put 0 effort into advertising until it's ready
Premium is literally just there currently for our testing/information gathering until 0.9.6, where you'll see an increase in usage.
Ontop of the other posts here, I don't see the issues here. Paid features are always going to be more successful then free services when it comes to promising the features. Client side anticheat programming is a daily feature, and if it's not bringing in money it will get bypassed and they won't be able to keep up. ESL/TEO has an anticheat team larger then most network's whole development team, and on top of that they all have formal education of varying degrees and most of them have been working on cheats, anticheats, and security for over a decade.
The free versus paid (and badlion will have free features inside of BAC, so it's more like half and half) doesn't work when it comes to anything. Let's look at CSGO for example. The more you spend, the better quality you get. Can anyone name a single free anticheat that is top tier, like actually top tier?
To the rumors of Premium being bypassed - there are no confirmed cases at all (we haven't issued a single ban on premium yet for those like hurr durr I bypassed). One case is someone claiming they bypassed security on open when security isn't even enabled, and every other one we've looked into is fake external clients to scam idiots for money. We know this is the case because when a hacking community figures out a gcheat check, you hear more and more about the detection method. We haven't heard shit about any layer of security other then the common sense ones that non-developers know about, and there is some really obnoxious shit that hackers/developers would really be complaining about if they were actually making ANY progress.
To finish it off, I don't really care about it. The fact that they are allowing custom mods shows me enough about it's security. If players in CSGO can hack through steam's official modding API, then you better believe allowing mods is going to be a huge security risk in a game with full source code available. Nothing is free in life, remember that. Side note, even if this gets any traction outside of the already dying potionpvp community, mojang will come in and hammer MineHQ pretty hard for their incredibly anti-EULA store (reduced deathbans, lives, unbans, etc) and then they will be forced to start charging for it anyways. Mojang doesn't really care about small servers, and in reality that is what MineHQ currently is. If they grow to anywhere near BL's size they will show up on Mojang's radar, and they will lose most of their income once Mojang comes after them.
In the end, two things are going to happen:
1. It will not be ring0, and any decent programmer (very few of those in MC) will be able to bypass it with some work. Eventually the clients will be unable to be detected without ring0 and then we move onto #2.
2. It will be ring0, but it won't be able to match ESL/ESEA/TEO's ability as it's professional industry-hardened developers versus a bunch of "minecraft coders" and it'll eventually just be a place where cheaters play when they get banned on BAC, just like most potion servers are where banned BL players play and nothing changes.
Also, as much of a friend of jhalts I am, you have the fact that most people who know MineHQ's past will not feel safe installing a ring0 client on their computer that jhalt has access to. I know I'll be forbidding any BL staff from installing it.
In closing, I do wish them the best as they have the same overall goal and that's to really crack down on the cheating and attempt to legitimize PvP in Minecraft. I definitely will not be releasing bypasses for it to anyone, but I'll probably show me doing it once when I get bored one day (without the method shown) once just to really stick it to some of the developers (a lot of them are cheat developers which have caused this problem, so it'll be good to give them some grief back).
