MMR System With ELO Numbers?
keep placement matches.

you get placed at the equivalent number of a placement (silver 1, 2, 3, etc. as 1472, 1400, 1328, etc.)

https://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/141734
for conversions

and it's the same thing as MMR just with numbers this will stop kids from complaining and everyone gets the visible number

I like MMR but I also like numbers xdee

and people like archerybot who say that other games don't do this it's legit the same fucking thing only difference is that you see a number instead of the retarded gold silver and emerald shit

Someone suggested have both systems and you could toggle which one you liked. I thought that was quite a good idea

Why keep placement matches when they place you in the same spot every time

yeah the highest placement should be gold 3 or 2 not gold v

the dumbest part is that if you don't lose any matches you get 214 points every fight but if you mess up a few times then the system fucks up and you lose more points from someone X placements above you then you gain from someone the same amount of placements under you

Why not remove the ranking system. Or better yet, we can make it so you only gain rating from fights. You never lose rating. That way, if you lose, you're still awarded for trying your best!

If we're being real though, this whole idea is pointless… There wouldn't be any effect other than a cosmetic one that would just confuse the community. Plus, the current system is fine.

do you think that the season 13 system was better? For placement matches and/or as a whole?

Why did we switch from elo in the first place? , I never even got to play with it so I don't even know how it works.

You win, you gain points. You lose, you lose points. Almost the same as the current system, except ELO had no promotion or demotion matches and you lost/gained more points

with elo you start with 1400 and the highest amount of points you can exchange was 31 and the lowest was one

you couldn't fight anyone 720 elo above or below you

people got famous off of elo, like Danteh and Gaxriexz

videos like Danteh's 2800 elo in BuildUHC have over 550k views making t the most viewed video involving Badlion

MMR is better constructed and stuff but ELO was more fun imo, cause people like Mahteus got Diamond II (2550) in less than 200 matches while it took some people tons of matches to get higher elo https://www.badlion.net/ladder/arena-pvp-1v1/26/season-12

The ELO system had problems such as

•sniping was easy because of instant queueing

•if you had ridiculously high elo it would take ages to queue someone

•if you mess up once you can lose 31 elo which is equal to about 500 points now

ELO was based on consistency rather than skill, for instance Danteh and Tylarzz go even in most fights when Danteh always had higher elo than him even though Tylarzz played way more, so anyone above 2300ish had to be rly consistent

so yeah I think elo was more fun but MMR won't change and this makes MMR more like elo without making any major changes

placements were great then. Got placed en4 build and and that's where I am now (mainly cause I don't play much now) but the grindiness in s13 was bad

myself included, if you asked any high mmr rated player, they'd rather wait a while and q someone that gives them more than +13

I agree with that definitely, I think placements were almost flawless. I can't say I can compare how grindy it was to other seasons because I didn't play it much, but, from what I gathered, you had to improve to climb the leaderboards, you couldn't grind matches everyday to get lucky one day and get the rank you wanted. In this season if you play enough you'll get a decent rating regardless of your skill.
