First of all, have you heard ANYTHING about CB's AC, like at ALL? Do you even know if it's running or even exists, AT ALL? No, you literally know the client is 1.7 and the client has FPS boosts (essentially a modpack), but you hear them saying absolutely nothing about their AC other then "yeah it's got an AC." I can already see one flaw (and it's something they advertise as having an adv over BLP) based off of what we already know, and who knows how much worse it might be. The AC team is totally independent of BL and is totally ran by ESL and ESEA, who have made the best AC in all of video game history. Badlion's AC > CB's AC, and they know it which is exactly why they aren't mentioning it - they aren't going to outdo ESL/ESEA no matter how much they try, they simply don't have the resources nor the experience. All of BLP's problems lie elsewhere which are getting fixed, but the most important part of a client side anticheat is, tada, the actual anticheat.
Also, how can you say BL premium is a failure when we don't have any events running on it yet, not promoting it really outside of minor games/testing, and don't even have our partners (both BL's and ESL's) advertising it yet. Ollie/redstone have two unique viewerbases, and they together alone are bigger then the whole youtube presence of CB combined (and we have SEVERAL more partners either signed or in discussions with us). They haven't started advertising it yet and are actually encouraged not to until it's released and bug-free, yet we have more and more people installing the client daily.
BAC has already stood it's ground in the last 2+ months - its only had one real injection client that was even working and made it to the public viewing but it was detected by the basic of the basic checks. A lot of CB's hype will fall flat if it gets bypassed within the first month, which probably will based off of the single flaw I've already seen just from videos (I haven't even seen the actual client).
It's funny because it's always the outspoken potpvp community and the big mouth parts of BL community that have the least faith in BL. Other servers playerbases are always comparing their server to BL -> why can't we have better AC's, why can't our staff be as easy to contact as BL, why can you actually appeal on BL, why do BL actually punish hackers. That's what other communities say, but here nothing is good enough. You go outside of the BL/pot communities and no one has even heard of CB, but BLP/ESL is well known, especially in the german/spanish communities. This is very bittersweet because if BLP dies:
CB will never gain enough players outside of the already dying 1.7 community and will slowly die off into a small niche community (jhalt has said over and over that if BLP succeeds, all of our communities succeed). Jhalt cares more about BLP succeeding then most of the community does because he knows how business actually works. The way the PvP community works is:
- New players join minigame servers like hypixel, gomme, etc which are advertised by huge youtubers - most of which are 1.8-1.11, and as a newMC player you're probably on 1.11.2, which is the latest version.
- Players who want to play PvP start playing the pvp gamemodes on these servers, and they switch to 1.8 typically.
- Players who really enjoy PvP leave these huge minigame servers for bigger networks/communities that focus on PvP or certain gamemodes, such as Badlion, reddit uhc, hive/cosmic/epicube, etc. This is where players sometimes jump from 1.8 to 1.7.
- Then from there, players who simply do not enjoy these servers/communities's focus filter off to speciality styled small servers such as HCF, Pot, soup, and smaller servers.
You take out BL, you really kill off the new player flow to all these servers you worship as so much better. I would hope a dedicated 250 player potpvp server would have a better potpvp experience then BL, where it's hardly 3% of our played matches. Players aren't going to jump from casual 1.8/1.11 skywars/bedwars/murder to hardcore 1.7 potpvp that is half infested with ghost clients and the other half play on an advanced AC. I guarantee 80-90% of all players on these smaller servers (zonix, potsgg, pvplounge, potpvp) were BL players at one time, and this is often supported by the fact that the leaderboards of these servers are typically players who are either banned in the past or currently banned on BL.
ESL pulls out of MC, which basically means MC will never be taken seriously as a competitive game. It'll spread through the gaming community that ESL couldn't make MC competitive, and that'll be the end of that. BL is already getting mentioned in esports/news websites as owned by ESL.
CB fails even harder, because all focus of cheaters will go into bypassing them, and since it's totally free - money gets wasted on developers fixing it rather then improving other things. This in return hurts them more. I would LOVE if I woke up tomorrow and 10 new client side ACs were released because each time a new one is released, they all grow in power. This is very apparent in ghost clients such as vape - the more servers focus on detecting vape, the more time manthe has to waste fixing SS methods which means he can't improve the actual cheating part of it. Same applies to ACs.
Gberry and I will probably leave MC and go to places were our skills are way better used and much better appreciated (both financially and otherwise)
Mojang will never give a shit about the PvP community, as it's already small and since outside investors/advertisers have pulled out and aren't coming back, there is no reason for them to change focus to PvP. The further our version gets away from current version, the less new people filtering in.
The community thinks there can only be one when CB is literally "I want my server to be cheatfree" while BLP is "I want minecraft to be an esport, and in order for that to happen it has to be cheatfree" - It's bittersweet because in the end, the only one who really loses here if BLP fails is YOU, the community, the same ones who are dooming it to fail to an unreleased competition whose only advertisement is basically paid or friends of paid.
