Imo if you want to foolproof common bypasses, you get together a group of toxic players and tell them to think of bypasses, then add them. It would definitely lighten the load on reports and mods.

I attempted to get this changed ~2 years ago if memory serves me correctly. The reason the filter isn't any more complicated than it currently lies is due to the fact that no matter what you do, what you filter players will find a bypass to and generally speaking will get even angrier than normal when their usual path of expressing their anger is made more troublesome. People are incredibly creative with their insults. For instance, "L" never existed until 2016 to my knowledge, definitely not in late 2014/early 2015. As it became clear that the common phrases to insult people were more likely to be punished people tried to come up with new ideas that would (in their eyes) keep the mods off their tails because it would be so confusing and random that it wouldn't be something you could really filter/keep track of. Of course it didn't work but it still goes to show that even if we did set up a filter to accomodate one word it's very likely that the players would find another one or just use spaces and dots to bypass with the same message.In other words? The filter is just there to get rid of the easier, more common phrases and force people into having to bypass in one way or another to get their message out (which shows that they really are acting toxic and deserve the punishment). Making the filter better in most cases would do nothing because it's just a repeating cycle of new insults and bypasses to make it worthless. It's not worth it.
Plus for some of these suggested words (kys, go die of ____, drink ____, im ddosing you etc etc.) we WANT the players to type them because those words aren't something that belong in a filter, they're much more severe than that. If a player is willing to go to that level to harass another user then let them get punished, it'll do way more than the filter in the long run.
Edit: To clarify, we don't endorse extremely toxic behavior like the examples above. It's better if the players type it out becuase those are more severe infractions that need to be punished for, not restrained by a filter. Put it like this: If we can't see it, we can't punish for it. And if someone actually DOES get impacted by those words in some other fashion (Like being PM'd or sent through other means than chat) and we don't know because the player otherwise would've given that away in regular MC chat then that's on us for filtering it.

+1 I like this idea, I dont think theres a way to bypass "L" doe such as it is only one letterif its possible to get rid of that my life will be better

Hypixel's chat would be a lot worse if it had no filter. Wrong I see people say "R3KT" and other variations all the time. In fact I think if you add punctuation after "rekt" it lets you still say it!
