Arrow Hit Detection
Ever since the "little" update badlion did to the server, archer has been a lot different. You have to basically shoot your arrow way in front of the person and it is now luck based on whether or not it will hit. The arrows basically bounce off of your opponents now. The speed of shooting the bow is really good but the arrow hit registration or arrow detection is very bad now. Please revert back to the old way asap.
(This is a friendly thread not made out of rage)
Also if you think I am wrong I let me tag top bow players like @Tyguy95

If someone could make an exact video of the issue I can look into it

^^

That would be more helpful to the people that don't understand

It's hard to show without direct comparison to the old bow aiming and old arrow hits but i tried to demonstrate it as best I could with what i had. The new arrow detection registers shots into air near the player as arrow hits. It does not register the arrows that should be hitting/go right through the other player (as seen very clearly in a few of the shots). It's kinda hard to show on video, but you should be able to see the issue. If not, refer to any of my older bow fight videos to compare it with. let me know what u think after u see this

So what's the exact issue here? Are arrows moving slower or something? Are arrows going through players, and if so can you confirm with a first/third person video (both of the same fight and sync them up)? I haven't played bow heavy shit for almost 4 years so I don't remember how exactly a bow should feel.

i guess theyre moving slower, but also shots that are being shot into air near the player are considered hits now, whereas shots that are right at the player go straight through them. its hard to explain but maybe refer to other videos on my channel to see any type of comparison

@Archybot maybe the hitboxes are fucked with arrows now or something? idrk its hard to describe. And yeah ill try to get 3rd and 1st person video from some1 who can also record smoothly

@Archybot to sum it up best i can is shots are going through players, and shots way ahead of the players are hitting (hitting air but dinging as a shot) does that make sense?

What @Tyguy95 is saying. I have these exact bow problems and it is really weird

@*deleted-96553 its hard to see but when ur actually playing u can definitely tell a difference, especially coming from some1 who has played bow on badlion for like 10 seasons lol

I think what he is trying to say is now with the new changes, you have to calculate your shot much more (as in, aim way ahead of a moving player) and it doesn't even look like the arrow is hitting. It just straight-up looks like there's a massive hitbox on the player, or that the arrow is teleporting. Before the changes, shooting the way he did in the second part of the clip would normally result in the player getting hit, but now with the (seemingly) slowed or delayed arrows/hitboxes it misses their hitbox when in reality it looks like the shot is dead on.

best explanation yet ^ thoughts on this @Archybot

Bowing definitely feels different now, and not in a good way. You have to aim a bit different now and arrows that look like they should hit miss. Maybe if @Tyguy95 made a video with hitboxes and experiment with half charged shots or limps, we can get a better idea. It's hard to describe though so sorry if I didn't really help.

The arrow's hit box seems to be bigger but doesnt look bigger shots that aren't supposed to land normally are landing on the player

Yeah, there is definitely something wrong with arrows since the update even a shitty bow player like me could notice.

I recently started playing build uhc again after a weekish break, I noticed the difference in the rod/arrow hit detection right away but thought it was just au being buggy. Hard to explain but from my personal experience it's as if arrows are delayed around 0.1 secs from where it's shown on our screen. To land a shot I had to shoot where I anticipated my opponent will move a lot earlier than usual (if that makes sense), just like a SA player (150ms) would on NA except with no bow delay on screen.
