Hey,Today I decided to try and find a solution to 'sniping'. If you don't know, sniping is where you go on a low rating alt, /spec who you want to snipe and join the queue as soon as they finish their match. They lose 214 points if you beat them, as you are on a low rating alt. I do not believe it should be allowed, and that's why I am making this post. To try and prevent this from happening.
The first option is to ban alting. I do not believe Badlion should do this, as I don't think it is a road they want to go down, but it is a solution none the less. Banning alting will prevent sniping to a large extent. Since you can only play on your 'main', you would assume you wouldn't keep your rating low. Some people may drop their rating to snipe you and drain you, but then you will get banned for MMR Manipulation/ELO (if it comes back in season 15). It is a solution, but, in my opinion, not the best one.
Sniping could become completely illegal. If you are caught sniping, you would be banned. This is a tricky one because there is no way of proving that someone is purposely sniping you unless you're in Teamspeak/Discord/Skype with them and/or they admit to sniping you. It would be difficult to ban for it without extremely solid evidence (for example, the account sniping having the same IP as a high rated player, having typed /spec player before queuing them and showing effort to get into a fight with that person). This is, once again, a very risky rule to lay down, which would be very difficult to ban for. I don't believe this is a suitable solution for Badlion either.
Finally, you could change the queuing system to make it very difficult to queue someone with a much better rating than you. The queuing system on Badlion is already a bit messed up, we must admit. If you are going to do this, I wouldn't recommend doing this without fixing the already broken system first. This is the most promising out of the three solutions, but it is also the most risky. DO NOT do this if it can't be done perfectly.
These are just some suggestions that I thought of, and they probably aren't the best. Please leave your ideas below on a solution for this. I'm not trying to start any feud, and I hope none of you do, but a bit of a debate can't hurt anyone.
Thanks,
Toblerone

Oh hey dude. But elo is coming back, which surely would mean sniping is a problem again?
