In the upcoming Badlion CTW Tourney, roster sizes are far too small to effectively combat no-show prevalence and create a sturdy and long-term competitive community. More teams seems to be the more than likely reasoning for the current roster parameters, however, this causes more problems than it solves. For example, seven total is too small for a 5v5 in which if only three teammates can't show, the team is disqualified. This is evidenced by the far too prevalent, pervasive, and preventable no shows in the last, similar CTF tournament. As well, having such few players on a team means scrimming occurs less, therefore teams' level of play increases slower, preventing or delaying the creation of a competitive community, where frequent scrimmages are the norm and a clear team hierarchy forms. Also, increasing the amount of players allotted to 9 will not decrease the absolute amount of teams, and teams will still not be able to completely change out their on the field rosters. Ultimately, the few solutions a seven-man roster solves are vastly overshadowed by the short and long term detriments it brings to not only the upcoming tournament but the entire Badlion competitive community as a whole.Posted on 14 May 2017 - 06:52 PM

@ArchybotI am 99% sure we will not be changing the CTW team size though. We have specific maps made up for the tournament that are the right size for 5v5.

He means the roster size, not the min/max on field. He's essentially saying 7 registered players is not enough for a 5v5.

I think he's trying to ask for is that can we have another sub for the ctw teams so it will be 5v5 with 3 subs
