http://i.gyazo.com/93b5d1053ffc299354fa4a223f6def8d.pngLet's take an adventure back to when relog was in existence in Minecraft. The above image is the difference between relog advantage and being a victim of relog. Starting at center stone and opponent standing still without KB enchant - If you had relog advantage against a player, you would get knockbacked to the black square. If you were the victim of relog, you would be knockbacked to the red square. Knockback dealt is basically doubled in all cases (Sprinting, KB1/2) when you had relog advantage against another player. We fixed this months ago by making everyone the victim of relog (red square settings), so everyone was knockbacked to the red.
Now in 1.7.10, they fixed relog in vanilla minecraft so no one is the victim ever (black square setting), so being knocked back to the black square is currently how almost all servers work by default, where we are the red square as we still have our relog patch in our spigot. I'm going to take a vote whether to switch to black square or stay with red square.
Note before voting
-Most servers also use NCP for combat and we don't (and we won't because it's very laggy), so note that it will be slightly harder to get comboed compared to other servers if we switch to black as you don't get "NoCheated" mid combo. Combos will be somewhere between current Badlion settings and other servers.
-Using a KB1 sword with black square settings would basically emulate no KB with red square.
-KB2 with black square would basically be KB1 with red square.
-KB3(doesn't exist in default MC) with black square would be KB2 (current KB2) with red square.
-This KB change will affect all Badlion Servers if changed, as all servers are currently "red square".
-If you want badlion knockback to be more like other servers pick black. If you like our unique knockback pick red.

Here's what I don't get. When you combo someone on Kohi, I feel like there's a LOT more knockback distance / air time involved in their knockback. On Badlion, it seems like I don't knock people back much at all. What do you think about that?Posted on 25 November 2014 - 01:35 AM

This depends on a lot of things, it's most likely an illusion due to other circumstances.

The reason I am choosing red in this case is because you stated that NCP cause more lag unlike our custom plugin, make sure the rest of you take this into your mind before voting.Posted on 25 November 2014 - 04:52 AM
I am choosing black here I think because I always liked how I could practice on Badlion and by association get better at Octc or Kohi pvp and I think making it more like other servers would make it a better communal experience because of the similarities.Posted on 25 November 2014 - 11:43 AM
I voted for black settings because since this is a practice server you are going to get used to this type of pvping and you can apply it on the server where you want to play.Posted on 25 November 2014 - 04:24 PM
I voted for red. You might think that it's better practice to use black, but if you're not able to adapt, you lose. Period.Posted on 26 November 2014 - 08:22 PM
I think black would be better, because I am a huge fan of trading hits, especially in vanilla or other high damage ladders :3Posted on 26 November 2014 - 09:58 PM
I believe that Badlion has always been the server that provides the most authentic vanilla Minecraft experience. I want this to be our priority. The reason we had the knockback set to the red block was because that was how Vanilla PvP behaved, but that's no longer the case. Badlion, I believe, should always attempt to provide the best PvP experience available.Posted on 27 November 2014 - 04:05 AM
alguien me explica en espanol lo traduje pero no entendi nada xDPosted on 27 November 2014 - 02:22 PM
I vote for black, because red square setting gives blockhitters an advantage which isn't the case on other servers.Let's switch to the black square settings to attempt providing a better PvP experience, and a more realistic one.
