New Host (again) + PotPvP 3.0 11/27 (We hope)
Posted on 25 November 2014 - 02:24 AM
Ok guys well we had an unexpected change in hosts (again). We have not had much luck with DDOS protection services so far…hoping this time around we are good to go. We have moved to OVH's datacenter in Montreal Canada. There are a lot of other servers hosted here such as Kohi, Archon, etc. So far we have had no issues and I hope it stays this way. It's sad that some people are jealous/desperate enough to try and take our server offline in a desperate attempt to stop us from releasing PotPvP 3.0. Funny thing is all we did during the downtime was code because we didn't have to worry about anything else while we waited for our new boxes lol.Not only should the connection be more consistent/smooth but we also had a major gain in TPS. OVH has some good hardware and a custom kernel that seems to speed up certain components of the machine. Our TPS went from around 19.75 with 500 players online to 19.98 with 500 players online. We also are doing little things to help make it a more smooth experience such as stopping the random sounds in spawn such as chests, pots, arrows, pearls, etc.
Lastly we are still planning on going live with PotPvP 3.0 on 11/27/14. We are near the home stretch and will probably have an open beta late Tuesday night or Wednesday early morning to help find more last minute bugs that our closed testing has not found. The rework is much cleaner in terms of the back-end (making it very easy for us to add new features to it [while right now its a nightmare for us to add things]), and also it's a lot easier to use for new comers. Not to mention it's jam packed with awesome features. We are pushing as hard as we can to get that out on Thursday, it might be later in the day though.
Anyways don't want to waste anymore time typing up a longer post, there is work to be done.
Oh also if you haven't voted on the Knockback situation please refer to this thread and vote: https://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/17094

I know who did this but if you ban him, he's gonna do it more. He's a psychopath.Posted on 03 December 2014 - 05:14 PM

There's a new host now. You should at least report him and let the admins figure out the rest
