Does anyone know why that whenever I try to combine two pieces of equipment like swords and armor of the same type(iron with iron) that it wont work. It takes my levels and wont combine they jsut pop out and doesnt make the anvil noise. I use 1.8.9 please help.

That's because Badlion uses 1.7 enchanting mechanics. This means that in order to see the actual number of levels required, you need to be on 1.7. However, you can stay on 1.8 and enchant, as long as you have the levels required to combine things (if you were playing in 1.7). It's worth noting that 1.7 combining requires more levels to do so, and a 1.8 combination that costs 2 levels may actually cost 4 levels on 1.7.
