Well, that was one great tournament for one of our newest game-modes here at Badlion! It featured intense action from many teams and saw nearly 13 hours of competition time spread over two days. Firstly – we, as a tournament team, would like to thank everybody who competed in and helped create such an awesome tournament. Unfortunately, there were bugs at the start, as well as push-backs and operational errors that prevented us from updating you all on these issues. We've heard your concerns and will continue to work towards fixing things we weren't able to resolve during the tournament.
I was floating around the staff servers and spectating matches and in my opinion, even after you guys had sat through and waited an extra hour right off the bat, the tournament was able to pick up surprisingly quickly. By the end of the second round, the teams had quickly adapted to the game and the tournament was running fluidly. Tournaments are always going to be slow at the start due to the nature of starting matches and disqualifying teams that aren't able to attend, but you guys held up and played well when asked.
I'd also like to publicly thank the staff members who poured their efforts into making this tournament the way it turned out to be. Some staff members worked through nights to make sure everything was pitch-perfect. We didn't have enough tournament staff members on the day for many reasons, so we requested external staff members helped out. These are folk who had no prior experience, and they really conducted the matches with the top level of professionalism. To these guys especially, I can't say how happy I am that you dedicated your free time to our tournament project. You guys (and the tournament team as a whole) should be proud of themselves for such dedication.
The CTW community deserves its share of respect, too, having slogged through and stuck together since the conception of the gamemode years ago. The CTW gamemode is perhaps one of the best demonstrations of the potential of Minecraft PvP in action — it's fun and fast-paced, and thanks to the tight-knittedness and resilience of the community you have all built around it, people have been able to play it even today. This tournament wouldn't have happened without you all, and your commitment is greatly appreciated
