I'm stuck at silver 4. Usually, when I queue against someone, I combo them to pieces. Then they rodtrick me, bowspam me, and then they get one lucky crit that kills me. I know I would be much higher if I changed things. Can someone help me counter this?

look at my post about the basics for build

But for real, what if you had a 144hz monitor and a decent PC. You'd be an even more stunning player than now.

Be smart with healing, and don't pick engagments you know you have a strong chance of dying in. Also try to just generally be smarter when playing, and learn to be flexible against other players with different strategies and playstyles. If you can predict better than you can be predicted, it'll just be a lot easier to win fights.

It also just generally helps to focus more on your aim. It sounds really stupid, but use a pack that has a crisshair you're most comferatable with, as well as general blocks you're comferatable with. For me, my aim used to suck (a lot more than it does lol) before I started using motion blur. But after using motion blur, it helped my aim for whatever reason. I'm not recommending you to use motion blur, but it was the point that I was generally more comferatable using it because my aim felt 'smoother' that way.

You're gonna hate more for saying it, but practice. Try to be a consistant well rounded player, who can use everything you have access to. Don't focus more on the sword, lava, or rod. Focus on everything you have (sword, bow, rod, blocks, water, and lava). It pays off to be good at multiple things rather than be good at one thing because you can be much more flexible in fights.

Another huge tip I have is to play confedentally, and have fun with the game. Don't get pissed if you lose, but rather brush it off as a learning experience and don't make a huge deal out of it. I understand it can be extremely frustraiting to lose fights, but if you can control yourself and have a good mentality, there is no reason you won't inprove and become good eventually. This also applies to IRL things like school, sports, and everything else really. It's a good trait to pick up, and will helo you out a great deal not only in game, but also irl.
