Computer shutting down over temp and load
Posted on 20 June 2017 - 04:11 PM
Ok so it seems like another computer problem thread from me pops up every week right… heh……My problem is, sometimes during intensive games like overwatch, my computer randomly shuts off. To explain how I came to my conclusion. So in the winter and early/mid spring time my room wasn't as hot as it is now. Back then my gpu temps would average 60-65 degrees Celsius. Now if I let my computer pump out as much FPS as it could the gpu rises to 70-80 Celsius. Now the max temp my gpu allows is 87 degrees Celsius so I don't know why this is happening. When I say that my computer is shutting down, I don't mean like really shutting down. What I mean is that my monitor loses signal with the computer, my keyboard and mouse turn off and the RGB lighting in my computer sorta blinks and looks faint. To get my pc "on" again I have to do a hard shut down and back turn back on. This has never happened before so I know it has something to do with pc load and temperature.

Get a better fan? Or a new GPU
or do what I did and turn your cpu fan to max in BIOS, it's really loud but you'll get used to it
