Doesn't make sense
I saw someone was kicked for strip mining below y40. How do you expect people to find diamonds if they aren't allowed to strip mine? This just encourages X-ray in my point of view . (Not sure if this is factions or uhc but it still doesn't make sense)

Cringie is correct, you've posted this in the wrong section.

To answer your question (even if it wasn't a question), we allow stair-casing from y40-bedrock. Using this method (only method) will help you find diamonds.
This allowed UHC to be even more Hardcore.

If you don't understand what stair-casing is, please let me know and I'll explain.

EDIT: Moved into the correct category.

You're supposed to cave for diamonds and other ore. Other methods (strip mining, pokeholing, and branch mining) are a) op as fuck b) used to cover up xray and c) people will sit underground forever and just mine, and then they'll show up at MU and just clean everybody up. C is most commonly known as btc'ing, if you've heard that term be referenced before.

This. You're suppose to be exposed to the elements in UHC, granted our UHCs tend to be a bit softer, this is a rule in most UHCs. Most do below y:32 though. in UHC most people only find enough diamonds to make a pickaxe and an enchantment table, lucky ones get boots or even a chestplate and then get the rest of their gear via pvp. This is why the UHC kit is enchanted iron in pot pvp, and not enchanted diamond.
