-1I'm going to use an example to explain my reasoning.
Let's say you're gold v in build. You lost 1000 points to a cheater and got demoted to silver 1. Now let's say then you got yourself from silver 1 to emerald 1 and then later got rewarded 1000 points and is promoted to diamond V.
Do you now see how this is wrong?

-1 easily abuse-able. I could farm a someone and then get a high rank and when he gets banned I'll double the rank I was.

There is too much room for error in this idea. The amount of false bans would annoying for some people and lead to many points being falsely gained. If this idea were to be implemented I'd say to include mod bans as well because those can happen quite often and be false as well. Plus like people said, just work and get the points back, if you go to one spot originally you can probably do it again.

The idea of the elo system (thinking on s15) is that one player gains points and the other one losses them, If you add elo out of nowere you are inflating the pool and ruining the system in a way (this is a bit more complicated but idk how to explain it)Also you would gain more points since you have lower elo from next fights, wich would be infair if you got the points back
With reseting the stats of all cheaters I would be happy, I cheked the top 100 of SA in BuildUHC and 56 of those are banned….
