i know most people are going to see this post and think "hahah who the fuck is this randy" and shrug off my opinions because i barely know anyone or whatever but boy i have had it.

i started playing badlion consistently in the fall of 2015. the glory days of badlion elo, back when there were still skywars and tank ladders and you could get muted for spoiling star wars and archer ladder wasn't fucked up. it used to be my favorite server because it was the first one i found that offered quick pvp fights that was actually competitive (and i was like 1330 elo back then ahaha). i loved it.

but then it just wasn't. MMR and KohiLion just seemed to kill the good vibe the community had. toxicity and ddossing and everything else just seemed to become worse and worse as time went on. but people kept playing it because badlion had no other significant competition besides hypixel (which isn't even a competitive server). to me (this may be true or not) it seemed like the devs were just slacking off (cue archy saying i have no idea what the fuck im talking about). then uhc meetup came out and i had hope (even though it's retarded that 50 people are placed in one 100x100 border). but then issues and server lag started happening at a more frequent rate and it made me resort to thinking what i was before. then ultra came out and offered competition to badlion, who essentially held a monopoly on the pvp/uhc community because reddit is dead. and while ultra definitely has some staff issues, in my eyes they just seem to be a better-run server, and if they are actually working on a uhc meetup gamemode, then i won't have any more reason to continue playing on badlion.

i understand season 15 and the badlion client are important or whatever, but there are more important issues that need to be examined right now. thanks to anyone who read this meaningless post lmao.

edit: i'm not saying i don't respect the devs or anything. i know nothing about running a server and i know it's not easy work. but side note it doesn't look good when an owner tries to pick fights on twitter by starting beef with other server owners. just my two cents.

I'm hoping S15 will be great. I'm pretty much like you, a 1300 in S11 and 12 that used Badlion to become better as a player and person. I do have a bit more hope in Badlion, and I believe that Ultra will eventually die to Badlion's dedication and commitment to making minecraft grow as an eSport.

Lol I don't think there is anything more important for badlion rn than s15. Most of those issues that you said need to be examined over s15 will probably be fixed in s15 anyway.

Ddosing isn't just on Badlion, it's everywhere and illegal…
And the server has been taken to a professional level where muting over spoilers would just be in the way of other shit. Chat is way more active today than it was in 2014-2015.

Well good luck with Ultra I truly hope you have fun there as you did in 2015 I much rather have someone stating in a mature way that he likes Ultra more than some kid just ranting about stuff. I personally disagree on some of you point but opinions are purely personal and Im not gonna/can´t change your tastes.

I find hard to believe that Ultra would be capable of running an Arena/Mettup server capable of beating (in quality) Badlion´s years of experience but Im an open-minded guy so who knows.
