Lol I've been playing UHC Meetup for ages now, and I can take getting beat by better players (most of the time anyway haha) but the one thing that still drives me crazy, and probably everyone that plays it, is the cleanups. Especially after you've got to final 3 and you've got a 1v1 and the other guy "promises" not to clean and proceeds to jump in and 1 hit you at the end of your fight. GG10, asshole.I saw on Ultra Network they have a UHC game-mode where they have an invulnerability period after each kill. Doesn't last long, but enough time to get the stuff and eat a head or two to regen before next fight. Would it be possible to bring this into the UHC meetups? Allowing you to loot the stuff and not get one tapped by players for that desperate elo/loot.
It wouldn't be that big a problem but I've played so many players that can't really fight to save their life but just run around looking for cleans.
Apologies if this comes off as a bit of a rant, but just thought I'd offer my thoughts on the subject.
Cheers
Dan

+1 because I liked you and your writingPosted on 25 July 2017 - 06:26 PM
I'm neutral on this. The "UHC Meetup," gamemode is supposed to resemble a real UHC and as you well know such things don't exist however from a competitve players perspective in could be extremely irratating doing all the hard work for someone to come and in effect one tap you.Posted on 25 July 2017 - 07:04 PM
I can understand that it's supposed to mirror the same qualities of a normal UHC, but as a separate gamemode it is always going to have some differences and I feel it's something that can only reward the better player. You shouldn't be able to win a game by cleaning. You can't really do that in a proper UHC.Posted on 25 July 2017 - 09:02 PM
as much as i would love that -1 cuz in uhc u get cleaned aswellPosted on 25 July 2017 - 10:10 PM
Or maybe have it as a gamemode u can choose from? (This would be good with the new NoClean gamemode coming to UHC 6.0)Posted on 26 July 2017 - 05:06 AM
That'd work well, just as long as people dont choose time bomb over itPosted on 26 July 2017 - 06:16 AM
This would be a good addition as a game-mode for UHC Meetup but it would do better if the voting system for game-modes is changed to a percentage based vote system like in SG.Posted on 26 July 2017 - 09:24 AM
Yeah I like that idea. It would make it easier to get game modes actually chosen. As it stands the only game mode that ever gets picked is time bomb and even that is becoming quite rare. I don't think I've ever played a different game mode. Maybe soup once or twice. It would be nice to see something new added either way.

Neutral. It has it's pros and cons.On one hand it does prevent cleanups, but on the other hand, it will decrease the UHCish feel from it, in addition people may abuse the system, gapple up and get first hit on their enemy when they are still invulnerable.

Maybe add it so that you can't PvP whilst your invulnerable. So you can't get hit by anyone, but you cant hit anyone either. Fair to both parties.Posted on 27 July 2017 - 04:32 AM

What if you finished your last fight with 10 hearts and they guy you're about to kill is low on health and you would want to attack him?

Then you can't kill him. If he's low then your trying to clean. Which Is the whole point of this idea…. maybe by eating a grapple it could remove the invulnerability or something so you can choose to carry on.Posted on 29 July 2017 - 01:16 PM
-1 a better solution would be larger maps or smaller gamesPosted on 29 July 2017 - 06:58 PM
I think the larger maps would help to a certain degree. But it doesn't solve the overall problem of cleaning, just reduces it at the beginning of the game. Size of map or players wouldn't stop you getting cleaned with 3 players left with one guy just waiting for both to get low then jump in and win the game through no effort of his own.Posted on 29 July 2017 - 09:10 PM

Except people only vote for timebomb and no gamemodes. It would never get picked.
