How can I get better at PVP?
Hello Badlion community,

Hello Badlion, I am Kirtru or AsIfIDie Currently. This will probably cause a lot of you guys to embarrass me. I want to know some good PVP tips. I have been playing minecraft for about five and a half years. I started out playing on the Pocket Edition version when it came out and had a lot of fun and I used to watch youtubers like BajanCanadian and SkyDoesMinecraft. I saw them doing what was called Hunger Games back in the day. I didd't pay much attention to this untill about a year later. I downloaded this app called MultiplayerPE. Pocket Edition didn't have servers at the time but by downloading this app it allowed you to join servers. There was this thing called Life Boat. It was Hunger games and it really got me into PVP. In fact I played so much that it was actually beginning to be rare for me to lose these games. I played these for a while, then I got an xbox360. I played xbox360 for a while and eventually went on to build Hunger Games maps. They where not the best but I ended up getting a few players to join and play. This really got me into PVP more. I did this a lot with friends, then my one friend figured out how to download maps and put them on xbox360. We all had a blast playing those maps. Then on December 25th 2013 I got my own computer. I got about 20 FPS in Minecraft on my computer, but I still played. I loved it so much and played a lot of Hunger Games on hive and hide and seek on hive. Then my friend who figured out how to download maps and put them on xbox360 showed me this server on Minecraft called The Pond. The Pond had a great Hunger Games setup. I loved it, I would play non stop all day every day. I started to get good at it and win a lot. Eventually the server went down. I got a new computer that ran well that I still use now, its a Macbook Air. Then I discovered a server called Badlion. I joined Badlion in Season 6 back in 2014. I had a blast playing 1v1's. The MCSG kit was the biggest kit at the time because BuildUHC wasn't around yet. Back then it was Hunger Games or Survival games as people started calling it was the big thing. Now its UHC, but I played so many 1v1's. Then the server The Pond came back but it had a different name now called ProMcGames. I played there survival games so much every day. I had a lot of fun. Between me playing Survival Games and 1v1's all the time I began getting good at the game even more. Then BuildUHC came out and I hated it. Everyone loved BuildUHC so much but I still was stuck in the MCSG kit. I played MCSG so much even after it was pretty dead. But I eventually grew onto BuildUHC because MCSG was dead. A server called McGamer was starting to die, though I didn't play it. Then ProMcGames went down. I just started to do BuildUHC. I got myself up to 1900 in BuildUHC and 1850 in SG in S12. Everyone called me above average and a god. Though I didn't think I was that good, but people really thought I was because I killed so many youtubers and posted it online. I have a playlist of them all https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLq73ekqsrPUiVek7OY4f71eEX1IBm6Th thats the link. Soon enough I got a new router. My old router I got about 35 ping on, my new one which I have still I get about 60. I played well in S12. Then S13 came and I was feeling like I was getting worse. Now in S14 I feel like I'm not as good as I used to be. I look at my old videos and I seem to destroy and now I don't know anymore. I want some PVP tips even though I know a lot about the game and PVP. I doubt it will help but I know that a lot of you Badlion players are really good and can give me advice. I'm sorry if this is weird or I seem like an idiot 10 year old (which I am an idiot but i'm not 10 i'm 15). But I would really like for any suggestions because I want to play better and get better. I want to improve. I know there will be a lot of hate. I have a friend who warned me about the hate named Frqst. Thank you all.

Your average mineman player,
Kirtru

Personal preference tbh. I legit taught myself how to rod and do everything(not saying that it's something special to teach yourself). When I started using the rod, I used scroll wheel to reach every single slot. Now I hotkey regularly and it has some great benefits. tbh, I think it's just practice that makes you better

Play some unranked matches to get better (that's what i did when I was silver 5 at the start of season xddd) then play ranked. I prefer not to play ranked to get better because then your rank gets worse and you get demotivated. Also, if you practice in unranked, you don't feel the pressure of ranked. Play to your strengths. e.g. I'm pretty good at bow but my sword and lava combos are pretty good, so I always lava trap the other player. If you're good at bow, then you can sit back and play defensive (warning: you might get some raging players if you implement this strategy).

So basically those are my only tips. Play a bit and experiment with different setups, then choose whichever one is more comfortable (Personal Preference). If you're good at melee, then go in and play aggressive, but if you're good at bow sit back and play more defensive (Playing to your Strenghts) Hope this helps you and good luck! c:

Watching and imitating playstyles of good players is a great way to get better. But what's most important, in my opinion atleast, is staying consistent. Example, you figured out you keep losing to higher ranks because you're not rodding enough. So next match you make the conscious effort to rod more. So far so good. However, the next few ranked matches you queue against silvers that you can easily beat. You decide to not try as hard, which indirectly causes you to stop rodding more. I can easily beat them anyways, what's the point of tryharding, right? Well, this is exactly what you should avoid, as you won't improve all that much playing like that. You need to continuously and consistently put in that extra effort to rod more (or whatever aspect you wish to improve on) no matter who you fight, until it becomes second nature.
