Don't get me wrong, I am all for Badlion's goal to popularize competitive minecraft, a community Mojang couldn't care less about. However I don't believe Minecraft has the potential to become a mainstream esport, because well, it's Minecraft. It's not necessarily the game itself that's the problem, far from it. The main problem is the slandered public image that comes with the game, which I believe will ultimately handicap minecraft from becoming anything more than what it is now. But regardless when I first heard about the concept of Badlion premium, I had my doubts but stayed optimistic since esl was involved. Now, admittedly I think badlion premium is a lost cause. If Badlion still wants a crack at making minecraft an esport, I believe they need to prioritise changing the public's view on the game, a game that your friends don't make fun of you for playing.Posted on 29 July 2017 - 09:45 AM
The Minecraft is fucking retarded tbh, and what's strange is that there is a fucking competitive and abusive side of it, like who tf would believe that there is a fucking competitive mc , we are literally doing competitive stuff in a block game for 5 year old. And imo the community is gonna die soon not cause of bullshit of dead severs, mainly cause of the amount of cringy kids that are gonna come in , like if huahwi hits 1M subs he will Collab with a cringy yter like Preston and then every gay fanboy will play badlion and it will be so fucked up the community will die. The only way I see the community to be alive sounds fucking retarded but is to seperate mc into two parts - regular and competitive . Tbh it does sound crazy and retarded but it's the only way I see the competitive mc to grow.Posted on 29 July 2017 - 09:48 AM

I don't feel like you're familiar with any esports games to realize that Minecraft PvP is nowhere near being able to be an actual esportPosted on 29 July 2017 - 12:26 PM
I'm assuming your image of an e-sport is multi-million dollar tournaments, large stadiums and all that jazz. MC will never be as large as LoL, CS:GO and Dota and it's stupid to set the expectation to be that. MC definitely has a potential to be competitive, even Splatoon and Pokemon have competitive scenes lol.Posted on 29 July 2017 - 01:30 PM
Ryan, I agree with with you somewhat. Badlion is in a poor state at the moment and is struggling. Though being optimistic season 15 and UHC 6.0 are coming out in the near future. Hopefully these will add back to Badlion, countering the dead arena season and hopefully bringing back UHC players from Ultra. There is a current trend of hating on Badlion and calling out every little issue that the server has, usually the development team are aware. This leads to propaganda being created to purely spite Badlion, and that really does show how immature some people are.
People who also say Ultra is going to die are also wrong, Ultra is a well established server already even though it's in BETA. Those hoping for the death of ultra are also not doing Badlion any favors. To be blunt Badlion has never had proper competition on the competitive scene (so this doesn't include hypixel, mineplex etc, etc) besides Kohi which was eventually bought by Badlion. This issue of never having competition hasn't helped Badlion as they've been able to keep a player base and not had threats of their players being taken away. The fact Ultra exists is actually very good as it means that Badlion has to keep rolling out updates to keep its player base, something it didn't realize until too late will Ultra. Though now it is bringing out new things and listening to the community a lot more.
From what I've said it sounds like i'm very against Badlion, though that is not at all the case and in order to create a good argument you can't have full biased. Your point on Badlion becoming an E-sport I agree with, it will never become a main stage e-sport like Rocket League of CS-GO but I am very confident that it will be able to become a moderately big e-sport. Though a big issue is that a lot of players are very young and to be honest too young to compete at a LAN event. Badlion though has made great leaps forward with big money cash prizes and cash leagues and tournaments seem to be the future, as they should be for a successful e-sport.
To conclude I think Badlion has a prosperous future and is certainly coming out of a rough time at the moment and when s15 drops I feel a lot of players will be extremely happy to play again and to play the game competitively. Don't lose faith just yet as there is a lot to come and it can only re-grow from here

Kohi was pretty good competition wouldn't you say?
Anyway people need to stop looking at all the negatives and actually appreciate that Badlion is by far the strongest competitive server and has been for several years. It's in a depression but when S15 etc launches there I wouldn't be surprised to see Badlion hitting 5k players regularly. As Magiclz said I personally love the fact Ultra came out despite the stupid drama. Badlion hasn't had proper competition since Kohi and this is the reason it entered the slump in the first place.

Huahwi is eventually going to reach the point where he becomes one of those youtubers who are cringey. Just wait until he gets comfortable with his face being on the internet and he'll start putting pictures of his face doing emotions in his thumbnails like the other cringey youtubers.Last edited on 30 July 2017 - 06:02 AM by Magiclz

Don't think the players being young is a big problem look at clash royale esport is being developped and there are tons of young players

Minecraft will NEVER become a Lan Esport anyone who believes it will be is just completely stupid and needs to play a different game. This will always be a casual game. +Posted on 30 July 2017 - 01:10 AM
