So the top 2 from each tourney are in automagically. But about the "Wild card" spots (as I'd like to call them). Would they be moreso aimed at people who did well at one tournament, or a team who consistently placed, lets say, top 8 in each? Basically are peaks being valued over consistency? I realise this may not be an easily answered question right now what with none of the tournaments happening yet, but I was just wondering.Posted on 23 August 2017 - 04:48 PM
Crap I thought they would have a diamond tournament judging the title but this is still cool and will probs play it.What if someone signed up for Team A for the CTF tournament and came top 2 and then played for Team B and came in top 2 for the CTW tournament. Or will this be a thing where u can't change teams once u sign up for one team

There a 4 tournaments and the largest competitive playerbase is now clearly on EU. It would appear fair to have at least one tournament on the EU proxy.
Already had this discussion on the Arena 5v5 tourney thread, and Varicks ended it this way : https://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/180774/post/1008395#1008395.

If team A wins Tournament 1 and then wins tournament 2, the 3rd place team of tournament 2 would take the second place and the team that finished second in the second tournament would take first seed instead of the team that already qualified from tournament one.
Is Team A code for PureBlox

Is there a difference if team A wins both tournaments or if it only wins one tournament and gets 2nd in the other?
What happens if the 3rd place from tournament 2 is already qualified because they got 2nd in the first tournament? Would the fourth from tourney 2 or the 3rd from tournament 1 receive the spot?
We will keep going down the # of places in each tournament until we hand out 2 new qualified teams.
e.g. if Team A and B win tournament 1, Team A and Team C win tournament #2, and team B comes in 3rd place, then Team D in 4th place would get the slot in tournament #2.

I love the idea of this and I'm hoping it turns out well. Had a talk with some staff members yesterday and all I have to say is that this will be amazing, looking forward to it!Last edited on 24 August 2017 - 05:00 AM by Mintace

Ok, thank you for the answer.
Could you also provide an answer for the 2nd part of my original post: "This brings me to my second point: "It's a very common practice in esports to put aside slots for specially designated teams." It looks like this could be extremely biased. Can you give an example for where this is done in e-sports? The really competetive and official tourneys only have teams in them who qualified for them and they don't give free spots to teams just because they had bad luck in the qualifiers"
