EU vs NA event
As most of you know for seasons there have been many arguments over which region is better or has the better players and I thought we can take advantage of that by hosting a EU vs NA Arena event at the end of every season (other regions can be involved too but the ping difference just makes it very hard).
This would be a unofficial or possibly official semi-competetive all-star event with a small cash prize possibly.

The top 8 players (5 main 3 sub) of each kit of each region would fight the other team on both regions a certain amount of times.
For example the top 8 soup players of each region fights 10 times on NA 10 times on EU. The region who won more rounds of that kit would be the winner of it. After each kit is played all the wins would be added up for each region to form a global score.

(This would be at the end of each season)
The teams could be formed from the leaderboards or what I prefer could be formed by the top players themselves because of the fact that there are a lot of good underrated players.
This would be advertised and streamed by youtubers/streamers
This could incentivize people to get better
Every kit could be played at seperate times ex: Iron and diamond at different times on saturday NoDebuff and archer on sunday SG and build next saturday etc
Or
It would be a 1 weekend thing where half the kits would be played simultaneously 1 day and the rest the other

In my opinion if organized properly this would be a fun little event that anyone who plays or doesn't can enjoy

I was personally thinking about running something similar to this. But, it would be/mean nothing if it were unofficial without prizes, YT backing, and a large developed community.

I would personally love if Badlion could do this though, but it would take an incredible amount of time and effort to put it all together. Regardless, I think it would be an amazing project that would make both regions' competitive communities very happy.

Some issues though

Having a multiple day tournament just increases the amount of people who can't show up. Not only do we have to worry about people not waking up on time both days, but you also have to remember that some people might be free one day, and not the other. This would mean that people would have less flexibility, and ultimately have less people who can show up. Since this event wouldn't be a priority over irl things, it has to be quick.

How do you make the champions of both regions fight each other? You can do 50/50 regarding the amount of matches played on each region. But, that would mean an even number of matches played, which could result in a tie. Or if the matches aren't even, then one region would have more matches played on it than the other, which isn't fair to one region.

Now that I rethought about getting a lot of youtubers to steram it but not putting up a big prize doesnt make too much sense it should be one or the other but the problem with prizes in these types of events is that there are so many participants so everyone would have a very small share.

What you said is true if it is spreaded across a long period of time some people may not be able to make it but for people who might play multiple kits such as bow players who are both good at archer and uhc or pot players who are both good at debuff and no debuff:

1 This is a good chance for them to be able to play at least one of the events if they can't be on for one of the dates of the tournament
2 If it is simultaneously these players will have to choose 1 kit to play and also will be hard to spectate
3 Players who will only play 1 kit wouldn't have a problem, they would have to just show up when it is their time as if it was all hosted at the same time.

Yes, it would be 50/50 on each region. It could result in a tie but it doesn't matter too much for each kit, the important part is where it all gets added up which I don't think I made it very clear. Ex: EU wins UHC 5-4 NA wins UHC 3-5, EU wins Iron 5-1 NA wins Iron 2-5 That means the current score is 15 - 15 not 1-1 or 2-2 so every round matters. There still is a possibility of a tie but it is very unlikely if it does happen we do some sort of a tie breaker which shouldn't be too hard to come up with

because you're a top player on eu and he's not a top player, like you can't say na is better than eu just because someone like danteh in his prime beat a 1200 elo from eu

I would love to see ESL try to push competitive Minecraft, like have people compete in an event center. This would really make Badlion a MILLION times more popular and would be a well thought investment.

dont like the idea of top players assambling team…..no one will choose players like me that are hated by the community but are in the eu leaderboards

With LAN events much better tournaments can be hosted but the point of this thread is to have an even playing ground without it

this is a great idea, it would motivate people to push forward and try to be the best instead of hitting 2k and calling it a day. a good example of this is the UHC champions games at the end of each season; people are always motivated from the very start of the season to play a lot to gain the requirements to play the champs game at the end.

Yeah, that'll be difficult to do an even tournament without an LAN
