About Clicking in Minecraft PVP
oh yeah take everything for like 5 tons of salt because im a random person so i might just be more retarded than i think

I personally think that the clicking mechanic in minecraft pvp is pretty dumb. First of all there is literally no other game I know of that has that as a central mechanic (then again there aren't that many block games or spam your sword games out there, oh yeah there's cookie clicker). Also it is very apparent that clicking really fast is not really good for you from a health standpoint. Jitter-clicking to me is like setting myself on fire so petty thieves won't mug me. I mean it works if you can aim with it, but there is no way you are gonna be able to do that for a long time. If aiming and using the keyboard in gaming can give you carpal tunnel in overwatch or csgo, what does that mean about me trying to have really good aim while jitter-clicking or clicking 11 cps.

Also having to be able to click fast while playing the game takes a lot from being good at the game itself. Of course it gives you worse aim, but it takes focus away from actually strafing or w-tapping or actual in-game techniques.

It also makes Minecraft pvp a lot less interesting for people. The fact that clicking fast gives you some sort of advantage is kind of lame. When I watch guys who are good play I'm more impressed by the strafes and combos than the 200 cps they are getting. I honestly don't know how to put it into words but clicking just is a stupid mechanic. It's also tiring and sore, which really isn't good for a game if people literally get sick of clicking. Potpvp is fun to me when I can combo someone but it feels dry when I have to also focus on clicking fast

Clicking fast isn't even that much of an advantage. Sure your hits register faster but there's so much more to pvp than just clicking fast that not having CPS as a mechanic wouldn't make the game that much dryer.

I would like it if you could just hold the button and get a set cps. It makes the game a lot more even and doesn't require some random ability rather than being good at the game itself. Click speed shouldn't be as important as aim, strafes, w-tapping, spacing, bowing, and all the other random stuff people do in build. And of course it would make autoclickers easier to catch since all autoclickers would do is get more than the normal set cps. But it's also more sustainable.

then again i get like 6 to 7 cps normally and i don't bother to jitter so im probably just a block noob who's complaining about the game cuz their bad D:
and yes i realize i wrote a block essay kill me

Click speed really isn't that important, but it does help. There are really good players on here who click like 6 cps.

in that case then yeah why is cps even a mechanic, just remove it if it doesn't even play that much of a difference

Because Minecraft doesn't revolve around PvP. PvP was just put into the game as a little bonus and nowadays people take it so seriously

Clicking is what makes minecraft unique and increases the skill gap

Aim is always more important than click speed. Click speed has a few minor advantages but nothing game changing.

I play better with 8 cps than 16, it isn't really that important :p

yeah, if it was it would had been optimized a lot more for frames and other stuff.
togglesprint probably would had been a part of it

if click speed really isn't important like yall been saying then why should we still have this mechanic. hopefully mojang does a pvp update that does that

They won't. Click speed isn't too important but the ability to click while aiming is a lot harder than simply clicking. It requires skill, timing and its a central mechanic.

I have to mention that I haven't read the whole thread.
Although I have to disagree, you said and I quote:

"but there is no way you are gonna be able to do that for a long time."

This is incorrect. I am able to jitterclick for a long time without any problems.

6-7 cps is honestly all you need, don't sacrifice aim for cps
