Using clickable chat
Posted on 23 December 2014 - 04:45 PM
Since the developers have badlion have implemented a way to click chat and have it then perform a command, I've only seen one way it's been used: to see an opponent's inventory after a match. Now, I don't know exactly how it works, but I feel like there's a million more ways that you could use this.Mastergberry wrote
By far the biggest reason we haven't split up the KitPvP servers is because we don't want to make it more difficult for the staff to moderate. It's already hard enough to moderate the network as it currently is (some of these problems we hope to solve soon).
This isn't necessarily to support the idea of having multiple kit pvp servers. On the contrary, in fact, I don't think that's a good idea, but that's for another day. It sounds to me, though, that the difficulty here is answering reports from multiple servers at once. I know that reports already pop up cross-server from Archy's streams, (although this could just be for higher staff, idk) so here's what I propose: have reports be clickable chat pieces which can instantly teleport you to the server in question, put you in spectator mode, and teleport you to the reported player. If NCP logs pop up in chat for higher staff, too, then you can use the same thing there.
On a less business- and more convenience-minded note, a similar series of commands could be linked to clickable chat regions when a) being requested a teleport on Octovon/factions, b) being invited to a party, c) joining an lms/war, (is this already a thing?) or d) being duel requested.
Oh, also, now that I think about it, you should do this for the duel request instead of the chest GUI, because if you're ever typing and happen to be typing an 'e,' then it denies a duel request that happens to pop up in your face. Instead of that, you can have the three options of accept, deny, and disable in clickable chat pieces for extra sweg

You can also click event messages to join the event queue before the event starts. We also don't want players to be able to click chat or run a command to accept/deny a party invite/duel request. That's why we have the inventories :)

Why? imo, the inventory GUI is rather obnoxious and inconvenient.
