We have a problem with Potion PvP, it is constantly maxed (we can't increase over 750 without causing the server to be unstable). We can increase to 900 but it makes unstable and prone to random crashes, so that's not an option. We have two options thought up, and now the community gets to pick which one. This vote will be going on for about 24 hours, admins will talk, and we will make a decision and put it into action.Option 1 - Create an EU proxy and an EU Potion PvP. The EU proxy would be connected to all NA servers and the EU Potion PvP, and the NA proxy would be able to connect to EU Potion PvP. The EU and NA Potion servers would be exact copies of each other, and would share rankings, limits, and other statistics. This would allow EU players to get better connections to our NA servers as there is a direct connection between the datacenters we would use, and would also EU to play with better pings on their own EU PotionPvP. All proxies would be able to connect to all servers (EU and NA), but I wouldn't recommend an EU player to connect to the NA proxy to play on EU Potion. If the EU Potion PvP would fail in playerbase we would keep the EU proxy and just have it connect to NA servers.
Option 2 - Split current Potion PvP into Potion Only (Vanilla, Kohi, Gapple, etc) Server and Non Potion (UHC, MCSG, IronOCN, etc) Server. You'd be able to switch between the servers with a item in your inventory. No EU proxy/server would be created for now.
Soup remains unaffected in both options (just an NA server). We MIGHT open up a EU UHC server with option 1. Both options could help the community or fragment it.

Don't make an eu server, I know many eu people on bad lion that get better ms then americans (like me lol)Posted on 23 December 2014 - 11:03 PM
I like option 2, assuming MineZ would be with all of the non pot ladders.Posted on 23 December 2014 - 11:09 PM

Having 2 differently located servers kind of splits pvp. You have the good EU pvpers and the good US pvpers that way.I like option 2.

I would like the second one as it would be cool to have no lag for UHC and Archer matches and would have less player base on one specific server and now 2 different servers. But on the other hand It would only be fair of someone of our EU friends could play just as even as us. So +1 for both really.

aww are you splitting the community :( i vote 2 :(Posted on 23 December 2014 - 11:39 PM
We could make the chat go back and forth between the two servers…Posted on 23 December 2014 - 11:55 PM
I think an EU server would be more beneficial as it would attract the players who can't deal with high ping.Option 1.

EU server because it would attract all the EU players who are just not winning/getting kills because of the higher ping they're getting. Also, about MAYBE opening the EU UHC, I 100% support this idea as this was my 5th UHC I get outpinged because I live in Europe and my hits are registering way slower + can't get combos!Option 1

Option 2 is the best, Potion PvP and the non-pot ladders are two completely different communities and I think it would be better if they were divided IMO.Posted on 24 December 2014 - 01:25 AM
Option 1. The reasons have already been kinda hit in this thread, but I'll reiterate why.As a US player, it's really hard for you to understand the shit that EU and AU players have to go through just to take a simple 1v1. Hits register slowly, arrows are delayed, and pots are god awful. Literally ever part of the game is changed - and don't get me wrong, it's not like EU doesn't bring up great pvpers in every part of the game, but they play differently and adapt. Lower-level players can't necessarily do that, and it must be really frustrating. I'm not EU, so I don't know first-hand, but that's my speculation.
The only problem I see is when Kit PvP regulars go to play a UHC or, more importantly, a tournament. If you are using the NA server for a tourney, EU players that have gotten used to the EU server will get totally fucked. You'll have top of the line pvpers go out in the first round, simply because they've lost their ability to adapt, even if only for a day. They've gotten so used to the low ping of the EU server that they forget how to adjust to the high ping, and they're out.
this post has been sitting here for like 4 hours waiting for another paragraph, but i lost my train of thought. That's all you get.

I'll still get 200-300 ping whether I connect to NA or EU servers so this could be biased, but I don't want the community to be split and not play with each other (NA and EU) as much :cSplitting the server into potion and non-potion servers wouldn't really split up the community as both the potion and non potion communities are already separated.
In addition, when break ends, during the afternoon on a weekday (AU Timezone), we don't have a big enough AU player base for the server to split into 2, some of them would go to NA, some would go to EU and there would be relatively few people on both servers, possibly losing even more players due to them not fully enjoying the badlion experience (Few people in FFAs, unable to join ranked/unranked matches of their choice, etc)
Option 2

I chose option 2.I'd like to prevent two separate communities, but to keep them as one, instead.

option 1i like having to fight 1200s who use uhc/ocn mentalities on pot pvp ladders ;c with option 2 all that would be gone D:
by this i mean people who just run and bowspam.
Posted on 24 December 2014 - 03:39 PM
option 1…its sucks so much that I have 170 ping and every arrow I shoot have 2 seconds delay… and then I lose something like 50 elo to a 1300 guy that sword rush that I cant bow spam cause of the delay… The real problem is that I dont think that uhc of 250 players will actully fill if they are eu and in eu time. unless you advertise the game in reddit or something like that.
Anyway I want that there will be a eu proxy but the problem is the amount of players…

Option 1 pls! me and my m8 are eu, and our rods don't extend fast ATOL, we are around rank 100-200 on mcsg 2v2 ladder… but we'd like to move further… and making an eu server would make alot easier! To all you US players think Option 2 is best, think that alot of the eu hackers won't be in your way, ECSPECIALLY since the new ncp GCheat (which i love the idea for).
this is just my opinion, and also alot of competetive eu players like myself ;D what's everyone else's thoughts?
