mmr is not convertible to elo

A newly designed profile page was released not too long ago (looks sick btw), and already my fellow au peers have noticed their season 14 mmr stats have been converted into elo. To me it was pretty apparent these conversions were inaccurate, so naturally I assumed they too would figure and wouldn't use it to fuel their lego ego. Boy was I wrong. So yeah that explains the point of this thread. No, Combover was not 3325 elo at build. And no, Legendcaleb was not 2466 elo global. These conversions are inaccurate because mmr is not convertible to elo.I'll get straight to the point. Mmr is essentially elo where the most you can lose in a single ranked match is 16 points (214 divided by 13 is 16.4) with demo/promo matches. In elo the most you can lose in a single ranked match is 31 points. Put the two and two together and it should be self explanatory from there. There are several more variables to further complicate matters that I could write about, but no one likes reading long threads so I'll leave it at that.
