So, with this idea I was thinking about allowing people to subscribe to certain parts of the forums like certain sub forums and threads. Allowing players to do this would be nice as some may want updates on a certain thread or keep up-to-date with the latest ideas/suggestions. This option could be located by the "New Thread" button when browsing the forums that contains a dropdown menu.The options this could have are:
- Subscribe to sub forum
- Subscribe based on criteria (couldn't come up with a better name at the time being lol)
- Subscribe to thread (Only if you are on a thread's page)
Subscribe to sub forum: Allows people to subscribe to the sub forum
Subscribe based on criteria: Allows people to subscribe to the sub forum based on a certain criteria
Subscribe to thread: Like it says, subscribe to a certain thread.
For an example, for me, as a staff member, part of my job is to help deal with reports by players. I think being able to subscribe to the "reports" section would help benefit me and other staff members so we can get to reports faster. Now, you may be thinking. How would this actually benefit us? Well, for me, I have Dyslexia which basically means I can miss things or interpret things differently on paper or screens. Dealing with this, I can miss reports regarding mutes due to the way players write their reports. With this feature, I can subscribe to this sub forum and get notifications on reports created by players. And I can get notifications on them based on a criteria when using the "Subscribe based on criteria" feature. Like, I can tell it to give me notifications if someone creates a mute report or a UHC report.
Another example would be for Community Managers. Their job is to listen to the community. So, for them, they could be subscribed to the "Ideas/Suggestions" sub forum and keep an look out on new ideas or suggestions requested by a person. They could subscribe to certain threads if it has a good discussion going on or to see how the community reacts to it. Or get notifications when someone creates a new thread in the sub forum.

Big +1Would be really helpful for clan officers to respond to applications on their forums thread since right now the person who the made the thread (most likely the leader) can see notifications on their recruitment thread.
But with this I’m going to -1 with staff subscribing to the reports section. Almost every staff member who checks forum reports is hungry for mutes and bans where it’s going to cause multiple staff members to respond to reports which could end in double punishments by accident. As staff I would be doing forum reports casually and people would always double respond to reports as it is now and would make it worse.
