I hope you're all having a brilliant day today. So I recently seen that a thread made by Gberry asking for suggestions on Season 16, now I am going to post this on there too. But this is something I'm very passionate about, and I think a more in depth thread about it here would not go amiss too.

The suggestion, as you would have all seen in the title is to bring back Ranked Skywars in S16. So a bit of background information, ranked Skywars was a ladder which featured in Season 10, 11 and 12 on Badlion. Before being removed at the end of Season 12, due to it being really too random for ranked, and because of some player opinion against it. Despite this, I do remember it being played a fair bit. (Feel free to correct me if I'm remembering any of this incorrectly).

I think what put a lot of people off Ranked Skywars, is that like I mentioned it was a random kit. It can often be based off luck, not skill. In fact a lot of the time it is based off luck. Of course Badlion is a competitive server, people want to climb up to the Leaderboards based off of pure skill. During Season 12, due to it being a ranked ladder, players still had to grind ranked Skywars if they wanted to be high up on Global leaderboards. Due to it counting towards global Elo. Which I think put a lot of people off it, not because they despised the kit. But due to the fact they had to sweat this half luck ladder to have a chance at being high up there. In light of this, I propose, that it is added back, however does not count towards Global Elo. People would still be able to view the Stats on the Forums and whatnot, but it would be a standalone kit.

A second reason why some people were not totally in favour was due to the Maps and possibly some items within the kit itself. While personally I liked it, I think if Ranked Skywars was to return both of these aspects should be reviewed and possibly changed depending on what the players would prefer both to be like. I'm sure the Community Managers, player council and Map team would all be able to come together to listen to the players and change any aspects of the kit/maps of which the players requested if the Owners decided that they would bring it back.

Now that I've got that issue out of the way. I want to talk about the Kit itself, and why I think it should be added back. Ranked Skywars is a unique kit, while it is based a bit on luck. It's a very open kit, and by that I mean there's so many ways you can win. You can sneak up on your opponent, you can try and rush the middle, you can have a bow fight. The games are fairly quick compared to other ladders, but also very exciting. I also think there is an appetite for something like this, ranked Skywars on Hypixel has proved that there is an audience for Skywars somewhere. There's a complete absence of Skywars on Badlion, you could argue that Skywars the minigame didn't do too well on here. But despite this, I do believe it can work. Again I'll mention that from what I remember the Skywars ranked on Season 12 wasn't completely dead, it did have players on. It is different, but I honestly believe there should be a ranked ladder for this to cater for the people who like the gamemode and want to be competitive within it. Though on the whole I think it always provides and intense fight, with lots of action.

-1 it will always be a mini game to me, If you joined any ranked hypixel games you will know how fucking annoying to fight someone that keeps running and wasting so much time on it and that's when we are the last 2 players.

++++++1 finally a ranked ladder that would require a different skill set. Would be also good with the popularity of OCN gamemodes. (Skywars = Fast Bridging) (Fast Bridging = OCN)

Also if Badlion would start adding Stand-alone ranked kits could we also add back some other kits like Horse? (Not saying it should be added but as an example)

I personally think skywars is great but has a lot of factors making it bad for ranked, Im currently making a thread myself which talks about a possible solution

tldr but the idea of bring back skywars is the same as bringing back Advanced UHC, it wasnt played and was removed and then brought back and then unused again.
