Badlion could do a better job with promotion of these events
Simple things such as more tweets, ingame announcements and more organised forums would help
Furthermore, using an official Badlion Twitch and getting cinematic video to hype them up would be cool and feel more esports like

Do more 5v5 tournament :)They dont have to be for money, like they can be for rank.
1-st : Lion+ (All team)
2-nd : Lion (All team)
3-rd : Plus (All team)
Something like that I would`ve like to be :)
And yeah thats a great idea for more tournaments,
1+

People who don’t usually play tournaments will never start of with an OCN tourney. First you need to get them in the tournament scene and arena is the best way to do that. 5v5’s aren’t always very easy for new players to participate in so 3v3’s seem better not saying 5 men and 1 man tournaments shouldn’t be a thing forever a variety of tourneys should be kept to make everything more diversed. Build UHC should definetly be one of the kits if it is a multiple kit tournament.Advertisement is the biggest problem I don’t know if they will be willing to but youtubers like jde and mentally could stream the tourney. Streaming isn’t always good enough a stream highlights would be very useful. People don’t always watch 3-4 hour long streams and they can also watch if they missed the stream. When they stream they don’t always have to be spectating, players were motivated in the 5v5 build uhc tourney because their favourite youtubers participated in it not just watched and they also had a chance to go against their favourite youtuber.
(Having all the major tournaments on the badlion youtube channel could also help)
Then you move onto ocn tournaments. One of the reasons people don’t play ocn gamemodes is because they don’t understand the tactics maybe with the help of the gamemodes players a tutorial type of video could be created and uploaded on Badlion’s youtube channel or on forums or a link to the video in game. Finding advertisers will be a lot harder as there aren’t any big ocn youtubers around. I personally don’t have much idea on how to advertise these tournaments other than either forcing uhc youtubers to play these gamemodes or contact big german bedwars youtubers if there are any, it seems to me that they may be interested in it.
Automated tournaments would also help a shit ton running it smoother. By that I mean 2 things. 1 having small automatic tournaments you can join without applying every few days. 2 automating the major tourneys. Having to wait for other teams to play their match just because there aren’t enough mods on is a huge waste of time. You can have a system where no mods are involved. You could add every player that is in the tournament to a seperate database where they get automatic messages at appropriate times.
For example when round 1 has to start each captain will get a message saying “Would you like to start the match?” There would be 2 options saying either “yes” or “delay x minutes” if both teams say yes then they get another message asking which kits/maps they want to veto and after that the match starts. If you click “delay x minutes” but you are ready before the time is up you can just type /ready whenever to start.
These matches would have a history like ranked matches but only per tournament. This way noone would be able to lie about the score. If every member in 1 of the teams hubs the process would restart. There still would be mods around if something doesn’t go according to plan but they would have a lot less work to do and tournaments would run much quicker without people leaving
Also you know I want the 1v1 global tourney

I would love to see an SG Tournament.5v5's are more competitive than anything else below so you should stick with that.
As @BustyBista said, definitely there is a lack of advertisement causing the streams and tournaments to basically be dead with close to no viewers and teams. I think you need to start streaming on ESL_Minecraft to make it feel more official and competitive and also you need to pay youtubers to advertise the tournaments.

I know you won't listen to this but I say just get rid of tournaments, people are only participating for the $, you are losing money and you aren't gaining any players in return.Posted on 25 November 2017 - 06:43 PM
> because they don’t understand the tactics maybe with the help of the gamemodes players a tutorial type of video could be created and uploaded on Badlion’s youtube channel or on forums or a link to the video in game. This is irrelevant when there is barely any advertising going on. On my twitter feed no one is talking about badlion yet they still play on other minecraft servers daily.
The gamemodes aren't hard as badlion already explains it. Such as CTW: "Capture the other teams wool! Make sure to protect your own."
That's really it.
As for tournaments, fix all the badlion client problems unless you actually want people to discconnect during your tournaments because yeah that's really fun and fair.

The larger tournaments should all be 5v5 and consist of Competitive gamemodes
This include CTF, DOM, CTW and trying new gamemodes out like Bedwars and SG
They dont need to be $1000 all the time and could simply be $300, just to have some sort of insentive
In the future once there is a good lineup of competitive gamemodes another "Emerald Series" could occur
Hopefully there will be a greater pool of skilled teams and make the qualifiers more intense
Also trying out different styles of tournaments would be good eg. Swiss, Group Stages etc.
Teams System:
A "Teams" system should be added which is different from clans
This would only have 12 spots and would be used for an easier signing up system
There are a lot of DQs and the system should be like other servers where each member must sign in and accept that they will show up
This system would simply focus on the competitive aspects and would therefore differ from clans which are essentially large communities
Arena:
Arena tournaments really should only be 1v1 - 3v3 and be ran inbetween large 5v5 tournaments
5v5 isn't very competitive either or exciting to watch so should just be kept to 1v1 - 3v3
And also as they are smaller they shouldn't have prizes and just be regular occurring mini-tournaments
Advertising:
Badlion could do a better job with promotion of these events
Simple things such as more tweets, ingame announcements and more organised forums would help
Furthermore, using an official Badlion Twitch and getting cinematic video to hype them up would be cool and feel more esports like
Kiivo did an amazing job writting this, same opinion from me

What is a harder gamemode?

I would like it to be 1v1s and 3v3s, I prefer 1v1s because I have no friends.Having more casual and regular tournaments in different time zones would be great!
And I don't mind some cash prized tournaments ;)
Thanks for reading my reply!

1v1 or 2v2 but not only pot and build, archer also :cPosted on 26 November 2017 - 08:24 AM
1o1 3o3 and 5o5 are all good. Just you have to make with real cash prizez to become the competetive playstyle higher.1st :50% of the whole money
2st:25% of the whole money
3rd:15% of the whole money
4rd:10% of the whole money

I think that there should be more 5v5 tournaments, but not all of them should have a cash prize. Some should just be for fun and to improve your teamwork. I think tournaments would be a great time to have different teams "scrimmage" or at least have teams to try to look at the non cash prize tournaments that way. This gives the clans a chance to practice their teamwork while also trying to win something. I also think that 1v1 tournaments is not where the competitive community is going/wants. I think clans are starting to get bigger again so more 5v5 tournaments would help support the clans more and keep the clans alive for the most part. 3v3 tournaments seem a little too small to me, but is on the verge of being non competitive in my opinion (or not as competitive as 5v5 events).Posted on 26 November 2017 - 01:27 PM
Is amazing try new gamemodes and those things, but i think we need establish what will be "minecraft competitive", i dont want to make a team and keep it active, if we switch between differents gamemodes all the time.A lot of people are talking about tourney staff need host an sg tournament (gamemode not ladder), and that would be probably huge, there are a lot of clans and good players, but honestly i don't feel this gamemdoe can show enough competitiveness, i'm not talking about teams/players, as i said before there are REALLY GOOD players, but the lack of an objective and possibility of respawn seems boring to me. I don't know where Badlion/ESL want to go with competitive minecraft, but we need to know what will be it, to help you and can bring our feedback.
5v5 for "important" tournaments.
Maybe some league system for 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3, and then make a tourney with the top players of the league with cash prize.
Cash prize is important and useful as long as it's profit, anyway i'm not against more casual tournaments/events.
Also for the future new gamemodes+tournament, before you announce the event, i think would be a good idea do a show match, to get more players interested, that would be amazing for advertise the new gamemode. One show match as if it were a final with esl_minecraft stream per region, i mean one for each region so would be 4 (EU, NA, SA, AU).
And when we have already decided where do we want to go with competitive minecraft (maybe you already know but you can't announce yet :D ) we can see an LAN event :)

depends on what cimunity prefersif they chose causily: 1v1s and 3v3s with small prizes
large tournumnets: ALWAYS 5v5s of VERY populat kits e.g. build uhc sg and no debuff.
and as kivo said maybe every year 4 large 5v5 tournuments
I think that is it from me if I have any more ideas ill edit this :D

Cool things are being written here, pls admins keep an eye on all these suggestions, and the advertisement is the most important thing, idk, pay some youtubers just for playing badlion, not just for advertise a tournament and get the money and cya blion, never upload badlion again, pay them so they play it and upload constantly, otherwise their viewers would never even try to get good for a tournament that they would like to play but they know they have no time to make a team and learn how to play the gamemode, get new players that might have a chance of staying on badlion for a long time.
