Why is it that when I report someone who is blatantly hacking on Arena… i do /list and no mods are online? Or when there are mods online and I /report they leave the server and the guy blatantly 10 blocks for weeks and weeks after?Posted on 07 December 2017 - 12:46 AM
By the way do not delete my thread like you have been doing every single time I make a post about something "negative" stop hiding from the truth.Posted on 07 December 2017 - 12:47 AM
Yeah, and high Elo's like myself can't gain more elo or even play because of these hackers/cheaters that never get banned. I side with CombOver/AtReaLity, no one wants to play because the cheaters never get banned permanently and they keep IP evading. Mods are NEVER online. Maybe 1/5 times I get on and do /list, there is at least 1 mod on, but not an arena mod. I see other mods like tourney, minigames, etc… But never arena mods. So when I blatantly 6 blocked at can't /msg or /report, it makes me not want to play Badlion. Badlion is a good server, I'll give credit but when I keep dying by the same hackers, no arena mods on, and GCheat doesn't work? It really makes me not want to play if I keep getting drained and staying the same elo area.Posted on 07 December 2017 - 01:22 AM

Sorry, from now on I'll prioritize your reports over everyone else on the server. I'll also make sure to always stay logged on, and I'll completely ditch all of my irl responsibilities and hobbies so I can make sure I catch every cheater who will ever log onto the server.Posted on 07 December 2017 - 08:32 AM
Ok so this is a solution to /report the person, i made this thread long backhttps://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/176729

You probably don't notice but a lot of the time the player gets banned afterwards as mod are not allowed to ban mid-game.Last edited on 07 December 2017 - 10:29 AM by Saimo

There are so many reports going on and its best for us to prioritise players which have been reported multiple times by different people, if we spec'd every player that got reported the chances of finding cheaters is minimal.Secondly: https://gyazo.com/cf08ee3da6b1fdc430e0fd547a1cc198 staff members disguise often when following players (I am staff, but when disguised my name doesn't show). This reduces the chances of cheaters noticing us when we are spec'ing them, in the arena lobby and when they do ./list. So you may often see that the ./list shows no staff, but the chances are we are on.
The reporting system is actually very good, and is the main way we find rule breakers. If you are getting 10 blocked in a match, I have a few tips: record and report them on the forums, msg a mod, say so in the Discord or use ./report. Moderators are not allowed to ban mid-match for Kill Aura / Force Field, and must way till after.

"GCheat is not perfect, it's still probably the best server-side anti-cheat for minecraft" I would agree with you if it was 2014 but as of recently the only way people get banned off of GCheat is if archybot is in the game. I cannot remember a time I've seen someone get banned besides in UHC by GCheat unless archy was in the game.. :?

You obviously haven't been paying attention, G-Cheat bans a lot of players per day.

I never said Mods HAVE to be on 24/7 or even most of the time. I do think hiring more mods will decrease the chances of running into hackers. Also, I feel like mods should message the players who report the hackers telling the non-hacker that they are speccing. I feel like most of the time, I don't get reassured that I am getting specced by a mod which makes me believe there are no mods on. But I feel as if I was told they were speccing the hacker, I wouldn't really care if I lost elo since the hacker would be getting banned 9/10 times. GCheat in my opinion is NOT the best anti-cheat. It simply cannot detect speed hackers, bhoppers, and no slowdown in Arena. I'm not saying I've seen other Server Side Anti-Cheats that are better but I do believe that GCheat isn't the best because it simply cannot detect blatant cheaters like Archy said it was supposed to (I think). BAC is not good IMO, I dueled my friend a couple of times and it seems as if he was WORSE on BAC then on Forge. Obviously, he does not cheat but I think there is still some work to do on BAC. I also dueled my other friend (DiamandDiner) on Forge then BAC. He got way better hits on Forge than on BAC. I'm glad something is wrong with BAC to where you can't get longer reach and better hits. BAC seems to give you less reach and worse hit detection which is GOOD since hackers/cheaters will be caught easily on BAC. You CAN cheat on BAC since people have made videos on it but I hope this will be resolved in the future. No one plays BAC and BAC isn't mandatory so I don't feel like playing on it, especially if it makes my reach lower and my hit detection worse. I do realize that Mods cannot ban mid-fight which kind of sucks IMO ESPECIALLY if they're bhopping or speeding or even freaking FLYING. But, I do not agree with the hackers getting banned afterwards or after a fight. I've ran into the SAME hackers fight after fight in a span of a few days. It takes blatant hackers weeks or even months to get banned. So I do not agree that they get banned afterwards. I forgot the guys name who was top 10 a few weeks when I was just getting 2100 but he was bhopping on people (including me) and he didn't get banned until a few days later? Mods don't have to be on 24/7 but we need mods who are on quite often to stop this from happening.Posted on 07 December 2017 - 05:13 PM
There's a mod or two online almost always. You just don't see them because they might be ingame or /d.Posted on 07 December 2017 - 06:05 PM

What you're saying makes no sense since bac is now 1.7 it feels exactly the same way as if you were using forge. The hit detection is the same and the reach is the same, I fought some people that actually think that bac gives you a longer reach . You say that no ones plays with bac but there's a decent amount of people that actually does and if bac would be added to mac/Linux there would be even more users. And finally you say that mods should be more online and pay more attention when you report someone (I've never been a mod on a big server like badlion but I can get a general idea of how hard it is to be one) but just think that there's hundred of people that are on the same situation as you, why should they tp to you when YOU do report a hacker and just ignore the rest of the players?

Mods can hide themselves from /list and it won't show that they are online because they are most likely already spectating another player that has been reported.Posted on 07 December 2017 - 11:47 PM

As far as I'm aware, staff are allowed to ban non-donors mid-match however are at risk of demotion if it is false. If it isn't false, then it's totally allowed but just because most staff members don't want to be demoted, it's very rare to ban mid-match.

We're allowed to ban mid-match for;
- Fly Hacks
- Speed Hacks
- BHop
- Scaffold
- Camping
Mods are also almost online, we just get many reports and usually go to the players who are reported more times than once, but check the other reports after we deal with the other player. Regarding people getting banned days/weeks/months later, it's usually because they're closet cheaters meaning they're very careful with their hacks. If you see somebody hacking you can always record, if your computer can handle recording that is. Regarding hiring new staff, we actually need good people to apply, that don't have just a couple minutes in-game.
