Remove Pearls From Archer Ladder

What you're not understanding @Hivlik is that long range, medium range and close range are all aspects of archery. Just because you're good at long range doesn't make you better than someone phenomenal at short range. To be good at archery you need to be good at all aspects of the playing field. Taking away something to elliminate something that you don't like to do, taking out an entirety of an aspect of archery, is pointless. The reason it's there is to improve on all different aspects of archery, short long and mid, and to be good at all, not just one specific .
Oh, I understand it just fine. But short range and long range on the same ladder are almost mutually exclusive. One's always gonna be easier to do without much skill, and that's how it's always been.

Short answer: No.Ender pearls add tactics and create ways to bemuse the opponent. Pearling to the roof may give either opponent a better shot, or perhaps pearling a few blocks away could mess up the opponent's aiming pattern. The real problem is the way damage is handled; the new ladder's design doesn't discourage bowspam/short range (even though it tried to). Removing ender pearls wouldn't make a difference on smaller maps anyway.
I'm not trying to discourage short range, but rather that bowspam range where players run and quickly shoot at one another—this is pretty luck based and ping plays a larger part in this range.

pearls do not need to be removed IMO, the whole point of playing archer is to get good angles and shots on your opponents. It's a lot harder to get good shots and angles on your opponent when you have to run everywhere. Also when you pearl and they don't see it it gives you the element of surprise.Posted on 03 January 2015 - 10:29 PM
Keep in mind your ELO means nothing, Badlion Potion PvP is a PRACTICE server to help you get better, not competing to see who can get the highest rank, makes no sense imo.Posted on 03 January 2015 - 11:12 PM
What if you just limited the amount of pearls each player gets to around 6 per match?Posted on 05 January 2015 - 04:56 AM

In what way would that help? Just curious to see your idea on this.
