Hey,So I reckon HCF is an unsustainable gamemode because it's so repetitive (the only thing that changes map to map is the kit), so I figured, why not change some stuff up.
If you think about it, HCF is simply normal factions without tnt. If you see it this way, it opens up the way for a lot of new things.
From here on, the only similarity of what i'm about to share with you guys is that tnt is disabled and there are factions.
Suggestions:
Ok, so the map will be 1000x1000. At the centre will be spawn, in the top right will be "Fields" and in the bottom left will be "Shops"
Fields: This will be the main way you make your cash. It'll be a massive area where crops grow which you can harvest to sell at "Shops", opposite to it on the map. Different crops will be worth different amounts of money. PvP will be enabled here, so it'll be intense.
Shops: You come here to sell your crops for cash. Cash can be used to get gear to pvp with/levels to enchant. Mining will be basically non-existent, so cash is super important so that you can get geared for pvp.
To keep a "hardcore" aspect to this, you lose all your cash when you die, so in order not to go broke, you can "bank" it into pieces of paper, which u can store at ur f home (so you can pvp safely without the fear of losing everything). But, if you go raidable, then yeah, you lose everything.
Factions: 3-5man factions (no larger, cuz map is tiny). Also, you can't f home from anywhere except spawn (which is a safezone). This so there's tons of risk (which makes things fun) as people running from fields to spawn with tons of crops to sell, or running from their base to the shops with tons of cash.
———————————-
No traps (traps suck, we want more pvp)
End: Yeah, there'll be end, so basically the stronghold (with the end portal) will be hidden, so it'll take some time for ppl to find it. Once they do, there'll be an enderdragon in end, which gives tons of xp and a dragon egg. This'll effectively make whoever has this a HVT (high value target) which is good for keeping a map active. Whoever has the egg will have bonuses, such as maybe a 1.5 multiplier for cash earnt or something, and thus will be highly sought after. Whoever has the egg would have tons of bonuses, but also be hard focused, as other factions would want to have it as well. This'll keep competition between factions from SOTW (they'll compete to kill the dragon) all the way to EOTW (they'll compete to get the bonuses from the egg and make life super easy from the cash multiplier).
Nether: Yeah, this could be where a KOTH is or something, and where you farm pigmen for gold for godapples (I want this item to be a "holy shit he has a god apple fucking run guys")
————————————————————————————-
Map Kit: standard HCF stuff (prot/sharp changes every map, but the pots and everything stay the same)
Yeah, so if there's anything that needs clarification, let me know, if people are actually interested, i'll clean this up and structure it properly, I was just dumping my ideas at this point.
if you don't think this'll work, please tell me, but explain why. Having an attitude of "this is new? eww no" is terrible because it impedes progress. At least give me constructive criticism so I can improve/you can have your say.

I believe this has been considered and denied in the past.Posted on 27 December 2017 - 05:28 AM
We’re not doing factions again and for good reason.Posted on 27 December 2017 - 05:46 AM
I like your creativity, but it just seems like a wackier version of hcf. Archy said in the past he doesn't want Badlion to be associated with the factions community again, so doubt suggestions like this will be taken into considerationPosted on 27 December 2017 - 05:46 AM

So you farm in the fields, buy gear, pvp and repeat. Seems more repetitive than regular HCF imo.I'm sure there's things that can be done to improve the current state of HCF as a gamemode, but this is not one of those things.

I see you put a lot of thought into this, but I don't think the community will like the idea of this.-1
