Hey guys I hope you're having a wonderful day today but I know a lot of Australian's aren't.Well firstly school is about to start again and Badlion just announced that they will be officially removing AU from the network at the end of February. What's my opinion on this?
Well I have two sides to this.Personally,I didn't play much Badlion after I resigned simply because AU Badlion was simply dead. There may be one lonely AFK player just chilling in the ArenaPvP lobbies but once the holidays rolled around,I suddenly noticed an average of 20-25 players on ArenaPvP.This encouraged me to play a little bit more and it was actually pretty refreshing.I honestly don't think that shutting down AU was the greatest idea for the community as the AU community LOVES their UHC's but I do like the timing.
What do I mean by timing?
Well as I have previously mentioned, school is about to start and most AU players wont have so much time dedicated to grinding out Elo.This will ultimately leave AU,Dead once again and no-one will play it unless there is an UHC.This may also encourage players to stop focusing on the game and rather focus on school and your relationships. However,I know there aren't a lot of good AU PvP servers out there anymore and the AU PvP community will ultimately suffer from this occurring.
What's my overall opinion?
This seems to me like Badlion has given up on the AU community and I don't respect that entirely as the AU community has given so much, forget the toxicity. However this could help players in real life and was well timed by Badlion in my eyes.
Have a good day yall as Ill be at school tomorrow starting year 9 :(

Yes but there's no players, so basically badlion wont run it for nothing, and yeah feel sad for AU guys :cPosted on 30 January 2018 - 07:51 PM
AU has never been huge. I was staff for years and as a west coast American, I would be on late nights/early mornings when AU people had evening/nighttime and rarely was anyone on. It was boring. I'm surprised it was open this long.Posted on 31 January 2018 - 03:09 AM

Au has been dead for a while and as archy said keeping up the servers cost more than the donations and it has been like that for over a year, I am just suprised this didnt happen sooner. If badlion decided to keep the au servers up in spite of them actually losing money, it means that they didnt give up on the au communityLast edited on 31 January 2018 - 04:34 AM by Affirms

Really late response but AU has been dead for well over a year and a half. 20-25 players on Arena being a good thing is just testament to the fact that the AU community is dead on Badlion. The AU community really won't suffer that much, it will mean the end of the AU UHc community though (Badlion will be the last server to shut down). Although I don't understand why so many people are surprised AU Badlion made it this far, for many years it was a thriving community with over 150 regulars (All but few of them have quit long ago though). Personally I am sad it's shutting down but its very understandable why and honestly there wasn't really a point of AU being up anymore.Posted on 08 February 2018 - 11:11 AM
Honestly not going to lie.. shutting down AU is going to ruin the server. MCSG didn't think shutting down their AU would effect much.. but it lead to the servers demise and caused a lot of laggy players to flood to NA/EU.. and overall just making the game experience very sucky. Don't like to say it but.. history repeats its self.Posted on 09 February 2018 - 06:27 PM

It wont effect us? Its super annoying when you rod someone and they get 4 hits on you before they take knockback from it.

We don't lag that much to NA, we just get delayed kb and some extra reach from the lag. Honestly I will be very suprised if any AU players really stay on the server once AU is shutdown so you really won't have much to worry about. @54321oooooo
