A "better" forgiveness system
There's been positive/Negative talk about the new forgiveness system, some people don't agree with the fact people can buy a unban time reducer. I personally don't like the fact that Badlion will now sell this.

If Badlion really wants to implement a forgiveness system, they should have a "whole new appeal" section where the person has to type up some sort of apology that's 1+ paragraph in length, and either mod+ or seniors could look at these and decide whether to accept these apologies or just deny them, there would be a guideline to this with staff but I'm just snowballing here

I'm sure this isn't a change the administration made lightly, and it's surprising not many people can deduce that this new feature is to compensate for the lack of people buying ranks/cases.

My principles tell me to +1 this, but reality does not. -1

I mean players already have to write a decent appeal to be considered for an unban, I could see this working in the sense that a player needs to have their appeal accepted by staff before purchasing forgiveness. I myself do not know exactly how it works and that may already be the case, but yea.

I see what you mean but people like this could just buy a shorter ban time if they just give a one-sentence apology

I see what you mean, the problem here is that pleading guilty can cause an auto acceptance by the bot, the only way to combat this would be to have all appeals need manual handling which significantly increases the work of senior staff.

I don't know how many appeals are made a day, but if I had to guess 90% of people plead guilty to GCheat bans, we still have probably 100 non-guilty to handle a day, meaning close to 1000 all up, this would include all other bans also I'd say.

Maybe a system of application where your appeal is brought to senior staff to assess and then they decide if it is enough effort either confirming the payment or refunding it.

This would then need a lot of structuring policy wise and probably a larger staff team also. I am all for making this system as secure as possible, but the amount it would cost to reduce a ban would add up pretty quickly to continually cheat so I do not see a major cause for concern about the quality of an appeal if they are helping fund the network.
