season 16 global edit
so while it is fine keeping global as 3 kits, I believe that archer isnt the right choice for the bow portion of global. Archer is a dominantly long ranged kit and it is much harder to be an aim reliant or short ranged player in archer as short range shots don't do shit damage. None of the other existing kits would be fitting as a good fill in for the archer kit, but to even the playing ground for all different types of bow players, a new archer kit should be introduced.

The kit would include a bow with infinity one and full iron.

no speed
no ranged damage
no pearls
no punch
no regen
no melee damage
no bullshit

This allows players to add pressure to short and mid range. These are skills that aren't seen in a kit where you are a potential 4 hit.

+1 but how are you going to short range when a player keeps their distance by bowing in the back? Perhaps add 1 pearl? (Assuming both players are good)

+, It tests all aspects of the bow, not just long range

This is UHC without a sword or gaps wtf😂No point honestly

being able to defend pressure against short range is also a skill, so that's just a part of the game

I somewhat agree but archer has always been the 'main' kit for bow players and thus making it the most obvious kit for the global system. Possibly adding 1 more kit from each section would maybe balance out your thoughts and feelings about archer being in global.

but by doing this, global would become a lot more of a match count than skill based. I was thinking about that originally, but that adds another 50 or so matches to each kit to be able to hold a 1700 global elo

Yes but with that there might also be a fewer amount of people with higher global elos which would also show skill as people who are good at archer may not necessarily be good at say for example your kit and that difference would be highlighted in their global elo. It's not truely global if it's only based on 3 kits. That's just ny opinion

Well an elo system in general is not the best for defining skill level. A ranking system based on the number of wins isn't as efficient as a system based on the magnitude and competitiveness of those wins, but of course it's minecraft and who really cares

but an idea that may work is if say a certain player is rated based on each match while not every match effects their change. This could be based on who he beats, and possibly a damage ratio calculating the competitiveness of the match. This could produce a more accurate depiction.

For example in Nodebuff a player who is placed is silver beats another player in silver. He is 1-0 against silvers. Now say he kills a bronze player. He is 1-0 against bronze players. Now say he plays a gold player and beats that gold player once but loses to him twice. He is now 1-2 against gold players so he will stay a silver player. Now we could narrow these fields of gold, silver, ect. even more to be able to get exact rankings of skill based on who each player beats. This would make moving up the rankings less of a grind for elo but rather actually testing skill. There's no way something like this would work on such a huge playing field, but that is the only way to actually test who is the legitimate "best player". You have to see who can beat everyone else, not just kill the most silvers.

I completely agree with all of that, Tbh there isn't really a way of getting a perfect system so at the end of the day we'll just have to take what we're given.

Didn’t agree or deny you about UHC😂Just that having an edited version of it added as a kit is just a bit more of a waste, considering it’s iron and UHC combined from the way you’re describing it.

This, I agree with. But, I’m not sure if something like this will ever be implemented sadly.

1. 3 kits for global is not fine
2. Just remove the sword from UHC
