We’re instructed to do that. What Joeninetyjc is proposing is a change to that policy to allow those terms to be used, as long as it isn’t excessive. It would then be a staff’s decision on whether to mute or not based on that.

Let people say those words, I don't think they are harmful in the slightest. Chat mods and modding is way too strict it's no necessary at all. Maybe when it gets a bit obnoxious to other players a mute might be good but 0 tolerance on it is just silly

Those statements and that tag don't correlate.
You should know Badlion has always had chat rules so strict it's almost as if they were copied straight from the Nuremberg Laws, and that's a good thing. It's not necessary to be toxic and unsportsmanlike on a video game, let alone minecraft.

I like to have an opinion and I respect the owners and administration, I think we both no my tag isn't in jeopardy for saying I disagree with something about the server in a nice way.
I agree that is never necessary to be toxic although some of my arguments may make it seem like I support it. I don't care enough about the game to get salty/toxic/unsportsmanlike about it and I don't think others should either.
That said, I think it's important that people have the right to express this sort of feeling without knowing they're going to be hit by an indiscriminate mute if they step out of line even slightly.
Just because it has always been the way doesn't make it perfect. I also don't think changing this rule will significantly affect the servers future, I just think it would be a good change.

Wow…from my point of view that should actually be the way to deal with chat. I mean if someone is extremely toxic they will stay toxic and the mute will not help that in any way but the community will deal with those people in a way that they will not be very popular and likeable to some extent and this is exactly the same way that real society works: If you disrespect somebody, you will face the consequences and I am not talking about law but about the negative sanctions of the society towards that certain person. In contrast, people that behave very sportsmanlike are likeable in most cases and as you said, showing great courtesy without having to would impress people even more.
Huge +1 for your ideas, I suggest you to make a separate thread on that to hear what others think!
