You should be constantly working your way to the top/amd or your goals, this way you can’t achieve your wanted elo and camp with it.

+1, in games like Overwatch it's a lot easier and less stressful to queue when you have high rating, but in Minecraft if you lose for example 300 ELO because of that decay you would have to play 150 matches to get your ELO back (talking about high rating players, you have a small chance to queue someone same rating as you and you wouldn't gain much ELO from killing a 1400), which would take quite a lot of time.
Also not everyone is able to play everyday, and what if your PC is broken and you have that sweet #1 spot?
The idea itself is good, but definitely not for Arena.

I love how some dumb degenerate fucks thinks we can all play whenever we want lol… Some people are sick, some people have more important things to do (even if MINECRAFT is the most important thing in life) and some people just don't want to play everyday. It's just dumb

One problem everyone has is that 5 minutes after your last ranked match you lose 1 global elo; doesn't make any sense.
