1) It don`t takes to much time to get to lb
2) You can be good in one/two kits and still get good global
I personally like more kits for global, but its much harder to get elo then now.
+1
that's why global players like Danteh and Hivlik were so known in the community for being good at the game, because getting high global was so difficult.

10 kit global was shit last season because people who were good but didn't want to spend hours grinding dead kits just didn't play for global. 10+ kit global was fun back when all ladders had players and good competition, but not any more.Radioactivebeans wrote
Bow kits are a minority compared to melee kits so its much more beneficial to be good at melee than bow to be high elo.
@Radioactivebeans because you're very good at bow, it was a massive benefit to you for global last season. The 6 most inflated ladders last season were Build, NoDebuff, Archer, UHC, SG and Iron. That means you benefited from being high on 3/6 of the leaderboards with really inflated elos. Even if someone was top 5 in soup, gapple, debuff and diamond (about 2k in all 4 kits) they wouldn't carry your bow kits up to 2k global, you would still NEED 2k in archer, UHC and iron.
Being good at the very inflated ladders is a lot more beneficial for global than being good in the non-inflated ladders, and last season all of the bow kits were alive on EU, and most of the melee ones weren't.
Edit: Saying all this, I think global elo has always always been a shitty measurement. Averaging out a bunch of elos has never been great, it's just a lot more noticeable with 3 kits as shown by AtReality

There are a number of factors that you have to consider when deciding if a ladder is easier to get high elo than others. For example how many players play the ladder (inflation) or the design of the kit if it has a luck factor in it or the amount of cheaters in it and the time it takes to finish a match. Iron for example isn’t played very much and is also based around arrow conserving which makes the ladder a lot harder to grind and a lot harder for the better player to win. Every single kit other than archer, uhc and iron is based around mainly melee that is why its a minority and that is why its not a big advantage. If you want to talk about nodebuff vs archer then yes there are more cheaters in nodebuff but the number 1 nodebuff player ranks 14th in the global leaderboards when the number 1 archer player ranks 79th
also the fact that archer matches have the potential to be 30 seconds and MOST nodebuff matches can last around 2-6 minutes

These numbers seem a bit biased. Why top 6? Why not top 3? I took the average of the rank 1, 25, 50 of these 6 ladders to see inflations heres the result:
Archer 2203
Iron 1951
Nodebuff 2035
UHC 2022
Build 2348
SG 2006
The top 3 ladders are archer build UHC and nodebuff so there is only 1 kit in the most inflated 3 kits that is a bow kit. I was 2.2k in build and 2.1k archer which is not even top 20. Not to mention that 7/10 global kits are melee kits.

People weren’t rioting because it was a change they were rioting because its a bad change and I still don’t understand what you wanted to see “work”. Unlike many updates you KNOW how it is going to be. Only 3 kits will contribute to global and that’s it what is there to see and waste a season for this attempt that is very predictable?

Is that what you do? If you don’t like something instead of trying to get it back you just sit there and live with it? If you really prefer the old system you don’t get it back by nodding to everything the staff say. Mmr is a different subject and not everyone wants it back definetly not as much as people who wanted elo back. I am not talking about if people liking the 3 global system I am talking about how it works and EVERYONE knows how it works. Only 3 kits affect global that’s it there is no need for an experiment

The top 3 ladders are archer build UHC and nodebuff so there is only 1 kit in the most inflated 3 kits that is a bow kit. I was 2.2k in build and 2.1k archer which is not even top 20. Not to mention that 7/10 global kits are melee kits.
I chose 6 ladders because they were the ones with a noticeable amount of 2ks. If you do the same average for the other 3 kits here's what you get (can't do it for diamond because we can't see the leaderboards, but there weren't many 2ks)
Gapple ~1900
Debuff ~1890
IronSoup ~1920
Ranking the 10 kits (in this weird method of calculating inflation):
Build
Archer
NoDebuff
UHC
SG
Iron
Soup
Gapple
(Diamond - it was 100% lower than iron but not sure if it was above gapple or not)
Debuff
Being good at speed 2 was nowhere near as beneficial as bow, as you can see archer was higher than ND, and the other two speed 2 kits were at the bottom. Being good at straight melee was also not very helpful, as you have diamond and soup below all of the rod and bow kits too.
Your arguments after calling me 'biased' are pretty shit. "Why not top 3?" Fine, why not top 2? Bow is 1/2 of global and Build is 1/2. Also saying "not to mention 7/10 of the global kits were melee based" even after you used a calculation that shows all of the bow kits being more inflated than 5/7 melee kits from last season shows that you're just spurting out the same arguments you always do without thinking about them first

AtReality would have never been able to get #1 global on the old system which basically shows that getting high global ELO was a lot more demanding back then.Posted on 16 March 2018 - 01:36 PM

yea 3 kits doesn't represent a lot of skill, however, last season most of the top global players were Bow players tbh and most of them are garbage at melee lol. Being good at bow in the previous seasons made it easier to get a high global elo if compared to being good at melee, as bow fights are typically much shorter and the biggest part is that they do not have to deal with the hackers that high elo melee players have to deal with on a daily basis which makes getting a high elo in a bow ladder MUCH easier then getting high elo in a melee ladder.
If you think that beans is bad at melee…

Baker is (in my opinion) one of the best global players on BadLion, but being a god with the bow doesn't mean he's just a "bow player", he uses to be very underrated by a lot of players but he's really good at melee, good enought not to see him just as another bow player.

He's, but he just doesn't use to play bow ladders as much, if you see his videos compared to how often he played bow ladders last season you'll see that he's atually good, but he just doesn't really use to play archer, that's all.
