To my knowledge, they have no use besides just showing that a persons' comment is highly agreed upon or well-liked. Could there be something implemented for people to see how many likes they have received/given and little achievement type things for every certain amount of likes you receive? Kind of like how Xenforo does it.

I agree, would like to see a more indepth liking system.
