Hello!I am not sure about this, but what is the opacity of your chat? You can find that out by clicking:
Esc–>Options–>Chat settings–>Opacity
If it's lower (<) than 50% then try to slide it to more (>) than 50%. This only applies to Vanilla MC chat.
