The border - invisible

After playing many UHC games on Badlion and have had a lot of fun doing so, there has been one thing that keeps catching me off guard and practically gets you killed and that's the border.I highly suggest to improve on the UHC to make visible walls/border somehow. Maybe make the walls out of blocks or any other fancy creation you could make.
I really think this would be a great addition to the UHC and would make it that extra bit more fun to play.

As far as I'm aware the reason we don't do this is because of the lag that it'd create on every border shrink. If we went full 1.8 it wouldn't be too bad since the game would be configured to do it effectively. Let me attempt to maths. Hypothetically for example the shrink from 3k to 2.5k would remove 12,000 blocks, and create 10,000 new ones. This isn't the ideal in a uhc where there are around 170 people. I don't know, it is possible but as far as I know it is staying the same.Posted on 21 January 2015 - 02:38 PM
I understand the issue there, what about if it were to create just a one block tall border which you can't pass just as a visual guidance of where the border is? Maybe that'll help a little?Posted on 21 January 2015 - 05:35 PM

On Kohi Factions, at spawn, there is a plugin that makes it so when you are pvp tagged, you can't get into spawn. The way they do this is whenever you come close (within five blocks) to the spawn region, and big red glass wall appears - but just on your screen. You don't get glitches around like an invisible border; your client sees the big red wall of blocks and you can't move in there to get glitched back out. Now, I'm not sure how possible this is with a shrinking border, but I think it'd be pretty sweet. @MasterGberry can you shed a little light? How possible is this?
