and an option to disable that jar patch thingy.

i have really crap internet and whenever those things pop up i have to wait like 2 hours before it finally starts up

there might be some kind of bug occuring that patching takes so long for you. how fast is your internet?

There are a few reasons we have to force all users onto the latest version as soon as we can:

1) Every time we push an update we are ensuring more stability in the game
2) Our anticheat system requires users update to the latest version to ensure someone is not using a cheat client
3) Certain items such as cosmetics might not render in game properly if you are not on the latest version
4) Your game could flat out stop working if the jar is not up to date with the launcher (insta-crash no way to fix).

We already make the patching process as fast as we can and use a difference patching system so you have less data to download.

There is not much more that we can do about this situation for you unfortunately. If you stay up to date more often the difference patches should be smaller/faster.
