I know what bsm is but what is auto sprint and what makes it different?

Auto sprint makes it so you are ALWAYS sprinting, even when not moving.

in the bsm mod you can toggle sprint through, is that considered auto sprint?

Autosprint also allows you to sprint sideways/backwards.
