This looks fun to clean up.
This occurs whenever I change mod profile or when i log onto minecraft.
Everytime I change the profile, all profile's mods gets bigger and bigger with each change. This has happened since the very beginning (or a very long time).

Please submit a bug report next time it happens. You can submit a bug report by clicking on the "Submit Bug Report" button at the bottom of the launcher.

It will send us your logs and developers will look into the problem. It will bring you to the page where you will have to fill some questions out so we can be aware of what is wrong. have the same problem and submitted a bug report around a week back, have not been contacted yet.
