I don't know if this is easy or not so this may be unrealistic if it is too hard, but the weapons you buy could also just retexture the weapons in the game so if you bought a bow and it's on your back, then when you use a bow it would be removed from your back and be put in your hand. I don't if the animations are hard to do or what so I really don't know if this is asking too much or not.

Edit: I realize this is already in the game now, but I thought otherwise because the Cupids Bow isn't working the way it is described. Sorry for my mistake.

Yes. Only the Cosmetics in the Shop under Weapons (Category) change how they look. I am not sure if they will change this for the Cupid’s bow as I think many people bought it before and like how it looked. (It also might be hard to convert)
