Optifine not loading on Badlion Client MAC

I just started using Badlion Client a week ago. I want to use optifine and i have it selected in the launcher. But it never loads into the actual game. I tried everythingI tried restarting the launcher
I started downloading Optifine from the official website
I made sure i was logged in the minecraft launcher.
I really need optifine, if someone has a fix for this please let me know asap :(

Could you submit a bug report? To do that, follow these steps:
1. Launch the game (1.8.9 version) with Optifine enabled.
2. Go to settings to check if there are Optifine features/settings.
3. If there are no Optifine settings/features available, go back to the launcher, scroll down and click on "Submit Bug Report" (https://www.badlion.net/wiki/how-to-submit-bug-reports).

It will send us your logs and developers will look into the problem.
