Badlion/Minecraft Frame Drops while opening Inventories
Posted on 08 January 2020 - 12:51 AM
Hello,I've been noticing that whenever I open a chest, self, or game inventory, my framerate drops for about a quarter of a second, and then goes back to the regular 200+ fps. Memory might or might not be the issue, although I'm not sure how. When I get the frame drop, less than 4% of memory is being used out of ~7000 mb. Yesterday, however, I upped the memory in BLC launcher to 8192 mb, and the frame drop was gone. However, it's back now, regardless of how much memory I allocate.
In task manager, I have 80% of memory, 50% cpu, and 40% gpu being used when the drop happens. I don't think it is my graphics card; I have a 1660 Ti built into a laptop that Minecraft runs off of.
Please let me know of any BLC/Java fixes that could be done. I've tested a lot of Minecraft/BLC features (toggling graphics settings in BLC, smooth render, smooth fps) back and forth, but to no avail. I might have missed something though.
Thanks,
OmicronGaming

Hello,Keep the allocated RAM between 1-4 GB. You shouldn't allocate more.
Does this issue happen on other clients/vanilla Minecraft as well or only on Badlion Client?

Hi, sorry for the late reply.Yes, the frame drop only happens in BLC. I experimented with the RAM amount and it did not make a difference. The frame drop occurs whenever I open a new gui (and also makes transitioning between servers a lot slower)

Hello,Thank you for responding.
If you have tried allocating different amount of RAM and you still are getting lag spikes, submit a bug report through the launcher next time you get this issue. You can do that by scrolling down and clicking on the "Submit Bug Report" button in the launcher. It will send us your logs. Logs are required for most bug reports as they contain errors and information to help identify what the problem is.
