Because it's better than having a shitty ign called ikbjenbjorn12752 ( I swear I saw a username like this) also, in the future if you want to quit minecraft for good and you know you are, you could sell an account called clock for a good amount of money because people will pay for that.

Ehh my opinion about this as well is that I'm not really a big fan of name changes (my name was before name changes and I got a diehard fanboy of mine called 68ms) because it takes the originality out of it like many others say.
I can understand it you just want to capitalise your name and take out numbers but if your getting a completely new name then I disagree.
Sure it's nice to have a short username and a name that can be funny but there is really no point because now it will be hard for people to recognise who you are if you have changed your name.
If I had the chance I would change my name to 69 but that was taken before the name changes.

I agree that I feel some people will regret it, but thankfully in 30 days (as long as their original isn't taken) they can always change back.

As for me, I changed mine to match my twitter and twitch. The name I had previously had was associated with a past I no longer wanted to go by. Bad memories of my "attempted" YouTube hobby and such, as well as lots of crap because I'm 25 and apparently I should "go out and get a real job" despite the fact I work full time and have a college degree…

Ima stop being a dick and calling people out, but I figured out the answer to my first question. They didn't charge because 1. everyone bought a ton of accounts. 2. people are gonna buy more accounts to get their original name back. ;-;
