Badlion file detected as a virus
Last edited on 21 February 2020 - 10:32 PM by SakiSMH
Ok, the title says this, but the file, contained (http://d12o2f9km0ua6p.cloudfront.net/stable/20200212_02/data/AntiCheatModule_amd64.dll) there (DO NOT CLICK, IS LIKELY A VIRUS) is being sent whenever I am on BLC, not just a server. Virustotal cleared it, but our Squid proxy server running clamAV and ChromeOS detected it as a virus, and other websites detected it as a Trojan. This only happens on BLC and not vanilla clients. This concerns me as to if it is legitimate, any help from mods or fellow players?Edit: The link isnt a virus, just says more about the data. Also I believe I can provide logs, thanks!

Hello,The Badlion Client contains no malicious software such as viruses or trojans. We use special software to protect our intellectual property in the anti-cheat software (BAC) and sometimes this is flagged by antivirus services as a virus or a trojan due to the way the protection software manipulates the machine language code. Please ignore these warnings and add an exception to your antivirus software for the Badlion Client if this happens to you.
If you downloaded the client from https://client.badlion.net/, then there's nothing to worry about.

Hi thanks for the quick reply!Last edited on 22 February 2020 - 10:57 AM by UnknownFact
The information I provided in my previous post (taken from here) applies to all third-party antivirus and built-in malware and virus protection software. If you downloaded Badlion Client from our website, you should ignore warnings that are related to Badlion Client. If the third-party antivirus or built-in protection software you are using has an option to whitelist applications, then whitelist Badlion Client.
Badlion Client is safe to use and users should not worry about it being a virus or trojan.
