Is it possible to set the minimum ram?
Java has a minimum and maximum RAM setting in the JVM arguments, but I only see one RAM editing option in the Badlion Client, which seems to be a pairing of both the maximum and minimum RAM. This is a glaring issue with the Badlion Client that was essentially solved by every other client in existence just by giving the user more freedom.

You can't set the JVM arguments in BLC, you can't even change the maximum and minimum RAM independently as far as I can tell. It might be possible to tinker with some things to make it possible, but with how the team feels about adding new/foreign mods on your own, I doubt it would be possible without losing access to BAC servers.

People who haven't got 3 gigs of RAM available at all times can't tell the game "Just take 384 MB unless you need more, and only take as much as 3 GB," because the client only offers one RAM slider, and it sets both the maximum and minimum to the same value.

In my normal launcher, I set the minimum to 384 MB (as that's the minimum required for Vanilla to run) and the maximum to 6 GB (as that's 2 GB less than my total RAM). Running it that way, the program leaves the rest of the RAM it doesn't need to the other programs on your PC, which is extremely, extremely optimal! The way the Badlion Client currently does it is actually the way most of the Minecraft community (wrongly) believes is the best way.

I had initially lowered the RAM to 2 GB for reasons of the game freezing/not responding frequently when going into hub rooms in Hypixel SkyBlock. It still freezes frequently, even despite the lower RAM being allocated. I actually had to do this to get enough available RAM to run the game and make sure my laptop didn't try to use over the 8 GB it currently has available.

I say this is in dire need of some repair if it's not already secretly possible through some methods.

The only way to add / decrease ram in the BLC is to use the amount allocated to the Client (min and max slider). The reason you can’t technically allocated all or very little ram to the Client is because we automatically limit the minimum and maximum Ram you can allocate for stability issues. That’s why you most likely can’t allocate all 8 GB of your ram on our client.

That's not what I was saying in the slightest.

The game crashes for me whenever the minimum and maximum RAM are completely equal. I need to be able to set the minimum RAM to a lower number than the maximum RAM so my computer has an easier time running Minecraft. I can't even use BLC because the minimum and maximum RAM are always equal on the slider.

Hello, may you send a screenshot of what you mean by the minimum and maximum slider being the exact same ?

As you can see, the settings only have one slider, not two.

In order for me to play without the game constantly freezing my computer, I need to be able to set the minimum and maximum ram independently.

Is bumping allowed? If not, whoops.
